So if you are a Mayweather fan, which I assume you are, you are not helping how everyone else views your fighter.

Ricky Hatton put up a good hard fight and gave Floyd all he could handle for 9 rounds and I had Floyd only up by 1 round and I'm not Ricky Hatton superfan either.

I find it utterly ridiculous that any BOXING FAN would come on here and berate a fighter for going up against the world recognized #1 pound for pound fighter both those guys fought their hearts out and someone came up short.

Any true fan respects the hard work and the danger of the fight game and if Hatton had won and everyone was bitching at Mayweather fans I would post the same thing. But in all seriousness give these fighters some respect because they deserve it.
That's as fine a post as I've seen. CC

Floyd made Hatton look bad. But still I like Hatton he shows heart Good fight.

And I would rather see the next Hatton fight than Floyd, I think it will be more entertaining.

Great support to Hatton he had the home advantage in US

Wonder if Calzaghe can get the same level of support overthere

I mean what did he accomplish , he beat a B level fighter (B level = Brawler) who i gave zero chance of beating him and i mean zero chance. I'm also really happy in the way that Hatton lost which was by KO, because if he had finish the fight on his feet he would have been given too much credit just for lasting 12 rds. And what i enjoyed the most is the heart break of his CULTISH fans who would go as far as comparing him to the greats of the past which they have no right doing since Hattons name doesnt belong in the same sentence with yesterdays greats.
What a load of crap, you lost me with the B level fighter tag, so every one who loses to Floyd is a B level fighter? Says a lot for Mayweather. I picked Mayweather to win and win he did in style but get your head out your ass!

With respect to the fight, If mayweather took the Hatton fight at 140, which he could probably just about make, that fight would have been a genuine coin toss, playing into Hatton's hands, but at 147 it played into floyds. Maybe at 147 Hatton is B rated, but at 140 he is A*. You seem to be missing the variables involved in fighting Bigsexy, very often, great fighters cannot both meet at their prefered weight.

Cotto was killing himself to make 140 and looked vulnerable, at 147 he is a beast. The reverse is absolutely true for Hatton, at least that's what evidence has implied so far in his career.
De La Hoya only got close to Mayweather because he fought him at 154.
Calzaghe will move to LH just to make a fight with Hopkins*
David Haye is similar to Cotto at Cruiserweight, heavyweight beckons for him and he will only get stronger there.
Even looking back as far as Duran Hearns this is true.

I really don't agree that the weight class would have made any difference. Floyd is no bigger than Ricky really, maybe an inch taller but physically more slight, welterweight is as much out of Floyd's natural weight class as it is Ricky's.

Floyd would have beaten Ricky just as easy at either weight.

And why when giving examples did you only give examples AGAINST your own view? According to you all the fighters above perform better at a higher weight and this proves that Ricky performs badly at a higher weight?

I respect Ricky Hatton, he's a good fighter but the reason he dominated 140 lbs is because it's not as strong a division as 147 lbs.

An old Kosta Tyszu aside who else has he beat that was world class. Not Castillo obviously as according to you Castillo's loss would have been down to him fighting above his natural weight.

Hatton is a very good fighter but he's not as good as Floyd plain and simple.

I agree that floyd is the better fighter Bilbo, I was merely pointing out that at 140 he would be more compromised than Hatton, hence bringing the fight much closer. I was also just discussing the effects of moving divisions on fighters, good or bad. Calzaghe at LH was is an unknown, admittedly he struggles to make SMW so should be better, also Duran Hearns was a perfect example of somebody fighting above their weight.

New York from Bristol is about £250 so a tonne of Welsh would make that trip, maybe almost similar to Hatton's following.

Ricky is B level at Welterweight.

A level at light welter i feel.

Mayweather was unbelievable Saturday nite, much respect to him.
Hope Ricky rebounds back at light welter as he can still forge a legacy worthy of the HoF if he carves out the light welters completely.

Hatton is pure Elite but at 140 imo he is too small but he gives any WW a hard time. since MM (Money Mayweather no more PBF) figure him out in round 7 in rounds 8 to 10 he just woop him.

I love Boxing I admire a boxers abilities and heart. The reason I'm so hard on Floyd is because runs his mouth too much and doesn't back it up at the same level he speaks you know calling himself the best WW and all.
