Oh Im sure. everything I've seen from Ricky tells me he is a class act and that is why I liked him so much. It just made it difficult for me to root for him knowing people that ignorant would get pleasure from a victory.Originally Posted by markb018
Now that I read the lyrics of "Born in the USA" i see that the song had no relevance whatsoever other then uses the word "USA"
I dont care about the UK fans booing our national anthem. They were all drunk and were there to have a good time and see some good competition. Most people in Vegas have more allegiance to the green "flag" over the red, white, and blue one anyway![]()
dude exactly, I was rooting for Hatton prior to before the fight started. When they started booing I switched sides and I was happy the guy was KTFOOriginally Posted by bigbroker

Did Americans find it wrong to see Hopkins doing what he did to the Puerto Rico flag?

Mayweather is American so it has everything to do with it, so they boo anything associated with it but you guys don't have pantomime.Originally Posted by SweetPea

They did however play the wrong national anthem! (although, this was hardly the British fans' fault, and also Kessler himself seem to prefer the one they played.)Originally Posted by WelshDevilRob

What was interesting is that one of the UK commentators said something like 'I hope the British fans do not boo the US national anthem' and then there was an awkward period when we hoped that they wouldn't but most of us knew that they would. It is embarrassing and is something that I absolutely detest.
In the UK typically when a visiting fighter comes to defend a title or challenge for one he has to suffer the indignity of being booed during the prefight introduction and playing of the national anthem. It pisses me off.
Still, the playing of the national anthems irritate me no end although even that has its humorous moments like watching, one of my favourite fighters of all time, J C Chavez try to remember and mumble the lyrics to the Mexican anthem.
Ill never look at Tom Jones the same again lol..........I spose use welshman wernt to bothered though as it was for Ricky.Originally Posted by X
