If im honest, i feel Mayweather is a ghost in boxing right now.

The only division he fights for is the Super-Pound-4-Pound division.

Seriously, i think the Welterweight division and the boxing itself would be better of if Mayweather WASN'T on the tip of every fighters tongue for a while. Theres so many fights that could happen and a great hieracy could be well established in the next year or two.

I kind of agree. Mayweather can pick and choose who he fights,when he wants. He's not going to defend his title often nor v any mandatories so I'd prefer if he just gave up the title,let the other guys who are going to fight each other go for it and then fight who he wants to fight.

If Mayweather takes a break like he has claimed. Cotto should absolutely fight
Williams. Having a unified WW title would be enough fame for the winner to
force PBFs hand.

Cotto is going to fight Oscar as first choice,if not,he's going to fight Cintron/Clottey in March and then Margarito in June-ish. That's what Arum has said thus far,nothing about PW.

Paul Williams is my #1 ww. The mans work rate is absolutely astounding, always seems very comfortable in the ring and just a very natural looking boxer. Plus he is so freakishly tall for a ww and has an inside game. I don't see people walking over this kid, but could you just picture planting one right on PW rib cage and dropping him. That would just be amazing, but I dont think it would happen. I would pick PW to win over Cotto in UD

Oh ye of little faith....there's only a few fights in everyone....Miguel Cotto has shown a willingness to fight anyone and although Williams has huge advantages over Miguel this has been the case before....he wasn't supposed to beat Judah and he wasn't supposed to beat Mosley.

Miguel has virtually nothing to lose in fighting Williams....you have 2 top tier welterweight fighters and they won't remain undefeated forever....no shame in either one losing if this fight is made.

Williams has size, reach, volume punching

Cotto has heart, power, and has an adaptable style

they both lack in defense....I would pay money to watch them fight

No but for real Cotto like Floyd and Oscar are looking for $$$$$ fights. Arum can At least give Cotto a decent amount so he can fight Williams since is not that much if you compare it to Floyd and Oscar.
