The upcoming Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight is #2 vs #3. That's pretty big!

Yeah james toney was, according to the buildup before the fight as i remember
No he wasn't. Toney was considered #2 pfp, Jones was several spots lower than that, because he hadn't been in a really big fight yet.

I can take a few minutes to search and produce rankings to prove this point, but I don't think I even need to. Toney-Jones was a huge, huge fight, but it wasn't a #1 vs. #2 PFP fight.

    Whitaker-Chavez was.
REgardless of p4p they were the two best places.

James Toney vs. Roy Jones Jr.
I like to think that the vast majority of the time, the two best, do fight one another if at all possible.

It is a big fight, but I hardly see what Marquez has done to be #3 let alone in the top 5 when comparing what he has done to what Cotto, Calzaghe, and HOpkins have done.

I think Tito and DLH were 2 and 3 at the time if I am not mistaken. Too bad the actual fight fell short of expectations.

HAHA. Oh mathematical equations! Those are not for me! But I doubt that Marquez becomes #1 is he wins. I think Floyd has to slip up in order for him to lose the spot.

I would have said toney was personally.. Loads of people say toney was p4p1 at the time.. Alot of people made an arguement for jones..Not so much as a long list of achievements but the definate p4p great feeling about him

Plus imo your all wrong on Leonard - Duran

Looking back now on duran you know he is a great.. But he was nowhere near top p4p at the time..

People only really bucked up and took notice when he beat leonard and he was a huge underdog for the fight

barrera vs naz?.. No barrera wasnt as big then .. Urr

Def Leonard - Hearns were right up top..
