I think you got caught up in the hype.

Not everybody said Hatton would win, many said he would give a good show though.

Richy Woodhall from the start along with me said Hatton isn't a welter weight.

I think this is unfair and premature.

If HBO stops doing European fights because of this rating, then you can throw this complaint at them. But they haven't done this yet. In fact, they're airing Povetkin-Chambers from Berlin, which is a much smaller fight than Calzaghe-Kessler.
Povetkin-Chambers a) is a heavyweight titlefight (or at least an eliminator), b) involves a young, undefeated American.

Not really sure it is a 'much smaller' fight in the eyes of most potential US-viewers, although it may very well be among 'hardcore' boxing fans...

Anyway, kudos to HBO for showing both. Much appreciated from this European...

I find it funny that Calzaghe thinks he deserves half against Hopkins. Nobody outside of Wales gives a fuck about Calzaghe. He needs to take the couple of millions Hopkins is trying to give him and make the fight

Bernard is definetly a legend but I would like to see bernard fight in europe and see how many people he draws for his 'world renowned' status. Hopkins himself drew 10,000 in his last fight in america as opposed to Joe's 50,000 in europe. the only difference between the two is that joe's fans would cross the pond to see his fights in america and bernard's fans won't take a busride to another town to see him fight.
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya
