My heart goes out to him, one of boxing's many (regretably) tragic stories.

I got an incredible thrill out of watching him in the ring. So fast and so fearless. A true warrior like that deserves better.

Boxing is a dangerous job , better suited for a single man to be sure. but its like any dangerous job fireman-police-rugby-football. you know ? You pray that God protects you and your family and for the man across the ring from you. That the ref will be wise to the action and make the right calls. And that everyone comes out OK. That all you can do in life really. The dice rolls and lands where it lands. Meldrick Taylor is good people a warriors heart he carries . I am very sad to see this.

This is the part of boxing that is swept under the carpet in my opinion and something needs to be done to help people like that. Maybe once fighters earn above a certain amount part of their salary goes to some sort of fund. Not a pension one but one for training and educating boxers what to do with their lives afterwards so they are left with another way to earn an income. It would also be used for injured/ badly brain damaged boxers.

So many great fighters, that have thrilled the fans, are left rotting in sub standard living conditions. I bet there a numerous boxers like this we have not even heard about. My ex was a nurse and she saw so many ex boxers with problems. I believe that another is the hungarian who fought Bruno ages ago and lost. Can not remember his name now. Bognar I think.

Also who were the people letting him fight clearly after he had nothing left. They should be made accountable.
