Well by no means am I opposing him. As i've mentioned many times on this forum, he's put in the work and I'd be quite happy to see him succeed. However, should he become "world" champion it will be on par for me with Carlos Maussa being World Champ and Greece winning Euro 2004Originally Posted by superheavyrhun

What about if Andreas Kotelnik beats Gavin Rees for the WBA Light-Welterweight title? To me, the quicker the WBA can get that belt back to a proper champion the better IMO. Rees is a nice bloke, but he's not at his right division. But if we wake up on 20 Jan with one British world champ newly crowned, and one having completed his first defence, it's a-o-k by me.Originally Posted by Cuchulain
Well Rees is a different story. Look I'm open to being proven wrong, but I said from the start he should be a Lightweight, (he could be quite good there!) May the best man on the night win. If both Skelton and Rees win it's a testament to their respective wills and effort as they both lack natural ability.

Rees-Kotelnik has been taken off that bill.
It will probably be added to the Haye sparking Enzo card.
Actually, I doubt that, be a bit harsh having two Welsh "world" champs caned on the same night![]()
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Has the fight been called off or are they merely altering the date.Originally Posted by Fenster
Although I don't feel Kotelnik is fantastic, I feel he may well have enough to dispatch Rees. Perhaps then Rees will go to Lightweight.

Just a date change I read.
Which makes sense
Rees can "win" the fight over here.![]()

I believe it was either yourself or Rhun that stated earlier "The sooner Rees loses the belt to a real champion the better."Originally Posted by Fenster

That was Rhun.
I would never state something so scandalously traitor-ish where my fellow Brit breadrin are concerned.

Either way, It's my belief that it's only a matter of time for Ree's. 140 is too big for him.Originally Posted by Fenster

Well it depends who he fights at 140.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

I'd give him a good shot against the rest.

The rest of who? LoL
Actually of the up and comers I can see Peterson beating him, Hopkins also and Steve Forbes is still about. Poor Gavin!
It's funny you mention Lazcano, I liked him a lot as a Lightweight, but LightWelter seems to be posing him problems (along with injury.)

i'm glad you laughed. that was the intention.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

Well the last fight either had was each other, (I think)
Forbes was really ticked off afterward at the decision. (He wrote to the ring about it!) Hopkins may provide something in the future but he remains a prospect (as you implied)

Watch it son....your mouth is writing cheques that yo' ass can't cash. But seriously, I don't remember saying that. I like Rees. For a short guy fighting way above where he should be in weight without a sparkling development in his career, to become world champ is a great achievement, and the longer he hangs on to it the better IMO.Originally Posted by Fenster
