Should i believe or not?

Hi everyone i'm new to this forum and i have a question.

I'm 22 and my mum always told me to believe in god and i just did because she said he was 'real' but lately i have come to question this.

Bad things have been happening in my life which has led to me to question 'God'

Like for instance....

I lost my job last week because i was late 3 times in a row.


Man City got knocked out of the Carling Cup even though i prayed every night for the last year, that we would finally win it.

And the most upsetting....last week my dad 'accidentally' sat on my hamster and instantly killed him.

So if there is really a 'God' why am i being punished like this and why are these bad things happening to me?

IS God punishing me because i told my 6 year old nephew that Santa doesn't exist? Or is there even such a thing as 'god?'

I'm confused and looking for some form of inspiration

My names Jonathan Blacktown and I'm a middle aged man with a home, a car and a radio to name a few and ever since by boy Ricky Hatton lost I've been praying for a safe return from Land Vogus where he fought but i have not seen him in any bread shops and that got me wondering, because he is not in any bread shops does that mean God does not like me please help me my fellow lovers.

Well my brother, your situation is an easy one to fix

1) Get a properly working alarm clock

2)Its not God's fault that you root for a shoddy team

3) Your Father should watch where he is sitting

4) That was a terrible thing to do to your 6 year old nephew....What do you mean Santa dosent exist

You see I just got engaged and my wife is telling me how lucky I am to be with her because we did it under the coffe table and now she wants a banana with chocolate sauce on so I have to make her that and she only has 2 sugars in her tea and I have only got enough sugar left for 4 so I will have to go out and buy some sugar from the supermarket, come back and do the dishes and the cooking as we are having meatballs (yummy) for tea and I will return because jelly is jelly.
