MAny top high IQ men do.
Some of best serial killers in history had a high iq and they went all the way in their own field and literally hit the wall.
HEs a nice guy not blame society and lash out secretly.
Funny isnt it, he now needs love dealt to him in hearts and its the only thing that can save him.
ITs also the only thing psychologists havent learned from there studies of others.
A loving personality or spirit may save him.
Ah man that made me laugh, like there's a Hall of Fame or something for serial killers

Seriously what does that even mean? Are they the best because they kill people in the most ingenious ways or because they clean up after themselves?

Is someone who killed 30 considered better than someone who's just done say 5 or 6, or is it a quality thing, e.g professional person killed in their own home rates better than a prostitute killed in a back alley?

And what about being caught, I presume all your analysis is based on the known serial killers, well we only know about them because they fucked up and got found out.

The ones who are killing anonymously are the 'best' serial killers in my opinion, and we can't know anything about their intelligence until we catch them

NAh I just watch the CI channel a fair bit and some FBI dude recons the higher intelligence level ones are the ones who study it like a game and pit their intelligence against the public and more so the top ranking police and FBI.
Belive it or not quite often they are the ones who are the hardest to find and I suppose they know from the past who is and who isnt.
What drives them is what the phycologists obviusly come up with afterward they are finally caught.
They have hit the wall in their line of interest or work, they feel its societys fault and go after it in a planned fashion.

As opposed to standard blood lust and or sexual deviation being the driving force.

    OK?

I just wrote this in the Heath ledgers dead post thats run into a depression suicide question but thought it's probably better off here where some of you study this stuff.

What do you think ,is this line of thought, taught in physcology at all?

    On depression

just about to step in to the realm of unpopularity with some on this comment.

Because we belive we are what we think, instead of beliving or being brought up to belive that we are more than our thoughts; our emotions run off of our thought process instead of the reverse way around so you would have complete control over your brain and what it thinks. You use it as a tool instead of it using you as one.

At first, originally; you choose what you get to a large degree including the choice to allow yourself to become depressed.
I dont think many choose consiously to continue it on though, but its too late to return to normal,
because i belive the brain gets addicted to the cemicals its makes and the nuro links its forms very fast and sometimes falling into depression is naturally easier than the other options once your at that point and the links are already formed around the emotion.
Worse its a secret until it becomes natural and then its still disguised behind normal actions.
I also belive its on the increase because people are being robbed of natural joy through unnatural processess around us,many electrical, bombarding us externally so that we get caught up in it all and we learn it all fast, then we search for everything including happiness, joy, love outside of ourselves firstly, instead of it being the last step and only used for added enjoyment.
We live for the external love of others or something else of choice and when its taken away which it always is eventually ,you only have yourself left standing in what i think is a divine space, others think of it as a hole and fall right in. Im yet to experience the absolute worse of it all personally, but Im in no fairy land type dream that its never going to happen.

Thanks for the feed back and the click: returned as per usual

I'd like to know the other side of the coin if theres one taught,.
There has to be one ,Im not sure what it is though and if there is a workable answer derived from it.

The working answer to the above is to practice continually watching your automatic thoughts so you become seperate from them.

I had spent months revising and preparing so I'm pretty confident i'll get good results as I remembered the notes. ATM I have just done cognitive Psychology and attachments which covers these things, below is everything I had to study including remembering evaluations in each one, case studies and findings of research and a number of the topics below were tested on the exam today:

    Short Term Memory (STM)
    Long Term Memory (LTM)
    Multi-Store Model Of Memory
Alternative to the Multi-Store Model of Memory
    Emotional factors in forgetting
    Forgetting in STM
    Forgetting in LTM
    Flashbulb Memory
    Reconstructive memory
    Eyewitness Testimony
    Insecure and Secure Attachments
    Stages Of Attachments
    Privation
Day Care on Cognitive and Social Development
    Cross-Cultural Variations
    Bowlby's Maternal Deprivation Hypothesis

I enjoy it although it's a S*** load of work, and that's just one unit as we start the second unit tommorow in class, I can't remember what it's on just yet but I'm sure a couple of people on here I noticed (I may be wrong) are interested in Psychology, do is interest you??.
I graduated with a BA in Psychology....it's quite fun to learn about and useful in everyday life but it's difficult to find good jobs with just a BA, which is why I am considering Graduate School or Law School

I did psychology at A level, got a B, Memory is the easiest, its cog thats bollocks!! i have a question for you all though

This question is asked to murderers to determin whether they have the mind of a serial killer:
"Its your mums funeral, everyone is there saying their goodbyes. Your feeling really down and upset but want to put on a brave face. While your sat down, a stunning women comes over and sits next to you, you get on great, she really cheers you up. You end up spending the afternoon with her, just talking about memories, she's a great listener, infact she's perfect. As it comes to the end of the day you get dragged off with your family, when you go back the women has gone and you didn't get her number!!! Aweek later you kill your brother........why??"
