Cotto is ALWAYS improving. I remember in the Mosley fight saying "Don't try and out jab Mosley are you fucking craz.........oh go on then, yeah keep doing that"

I think he could improve given the manner of his last performance but if he slips back into the action hero mould, then theres a good chance that his peak will vanish pretty quickly.

By that im saying he is at his peak now.

and i have to say he has improved quite a lot since then.

I agree that the longer Mayweather puts this fight off, the harder it will get.

I do think that Mayweather would still beat Cotto but i believe that Cotto has a much better chance than Hatton and even Oscar had.

On a side note, i have to say i was alarmed at how often Corley hit Cotto with the suothpaw right hook. I wonder how Cotto would cope with a Luis Collazo. That would be an interesting fight imo. It would give an indication of how Cotto deals with a fighter with that much slickness and boxing ability.
I had been concerned also with the quantity of punches that sometimes Cotto receives. I don't know how many of you saw his fight with Ndou where more than one time Cotto received 1, 2, 3 right hands. I was concerned because in that particular fight he could not adjust as I expected to avoid receiving the same punch repeatedly, and to be honest I thought that Judah or Mosley could stopped him (giving my Puertorrican feelings away). But, thanks God I was wrong and Cotto could adjust and won both fights. If you go even farther to previous Cotto's fight you will notice that he is taking a lot of more risks now to KO his opponents, and that is why he is taking more punches. But, definitely I believe Cotto keeps improving, and he will give a lot of trouble to anyone including Floyd, loosing or winning.
The only thing i can think of is maybe Cotto wasn't worried by N'Dou's or Corley's power and thats why he didn't mind taking a few. Even against Abdulaev he didn't mind taking some shots.

Thing that am most impressed with is how he reacts to being hurt. He deals with it brilliantly. That's the mark of a truly great fighter.
I agree there are many "brilliant" boxers, but some can not recover or don't know how to react if they are hurt. Cotto had proved he has this ability, and had won even in times of adversity.

Miguel Cotto is like the Evander Holyfield of the Welterweights, he can be hurt an rocked badly but he has amazing recovery powers.

I said this elsewhere...so I'll say it again here...Cotto needs to wait & pick a smart time to go after Floyd…wait for Floyd’s self proposed layoff. Don’t go for Floyd now…while his confidence is sky rocket high after utterly & totally destroying Hatton…wait for the layoff…let him get soft & then go at him full throttle like you did against Mosley for the first half of the fight.

No way is Cotto past his prime...nor is he on a down hill ride from this point on.

Facing someone like Margarito after his resurgence or besting Williams would be an amazing feat for Cotto.

Fighting Floyd right now? That'd just be stupid...for all of the three above names...but especially Cotto. Margarito & Williams have a large advantage over Floyd just based on their reaches & size advantages...but Floyd has over come those also.
