I was half joking about Emanuel Augustus, but here's a name Ice missed - Carmen Basilio, for sure.

Augustus is probably the best fighter ever with 20+ losses and under 30 wins. I'm not sure there has ever been a guy with a 35-29 record, barely better than .500, who can give a top class fighter a hard time, even win, on any given night.

ICE, Holyfield is on 9 losses. I thought of him too but Sultan gave him his 9th defeat. Holyfields gonna be there though if he doesn't take a hint and retire already! I hope he will now??
I was sure Arturo Gatti was handed his 10th defeat by Gomez but it was his 9th...Although most wouldn't consider him great, he was a former world champ.

Henry Cooper? Not a world champion but was around in a very tough era and gave Ali all he could handle.

Well said Rozzysean.Honest fighters like Johnson remind me why it is I love this sport.He was the victim many times over of seeing Impaired judges..(Kiwanuka,Sheika,Judah,etc fights) but has not lost a step.Deserves the constant respect usally heaped upon some champions.
Its early as far as predictions but Im picking him to upset Dawson over 12 dictated rounds.

Roberto Duran actually did this as well. Debut 1968, last fight 2001. 60'es, 70'es, 80'es, 90'es and 00's.

Guess its a bit different for fighters from many years ago as they had that many fights compared to today's generation so 10 losses or more doesn't look that bad.
