.....Vernon Forrest hasn't really done much to make Oscar worried.....sure he beat Shane Mosely and Shane beat Oscar but that doesn't mean jack shit....hell Joe Frazier beat Ali and Foreman demolished Frazier and Ali had a relatively easy time with Big George.

Vernon Forrest had a tough time with Ike Quartey who is no spring chicken anymore.....Vernon is 37 and since his losses to Mayorga in 2003 he has fought 5 times and the biggest names on his record are Piccarillo and Baldomir....not exactly greats are they?

Hell I just wanted to see that match anyway....kind of like I wanted to see Mosley-Vargas or even Mosley-Trinidad (which i still wouldn't mind seeing).

Cory Spinks would be much more dangerous for ODH

And everyone talking about a Hatton-De la Hoya fight that would be a more lopsided victory than this fight vs Forbes.

That's exactly it though Lyle... Forrest hasn't done anything much recently. THat doesn't mean he hasn't done anything to make DLH worried though, wins on paper have little to do with how much of a threat a fighter is viewed as by his peers.. Forrest has LOOKED very good in his last two fights imo, he seems to be using his jab a lot more and has obviously recovered considerably from his shoulder problems. He's a big tall guy with a good jab, excellent right hand, and puts his punches together well for a guy so rangy... Beat Mosley twice, has a huge chip on his shoulder feeling as though he should have been recognized as one of the top WW's like Oscar was.. Of course Oscar has reason to be worried about that fight, not to mention once he realizes what meager sum he would make for possibly getting his ass beat. You think someone in DLH's position is going to take a total high risk low reward fight as a TUNE UP, when every fight is so much more taxing on him due to his age? Just think about it for two seconds, apparently that's a lot to ask of you.

As usual, I totally agree. Seriously if he wants someone who runs all night with no power, fucking fight Spinks, at least he has a title at you fucking weightclass Oscar. This is a joke!

Spinks beat Oscar? Give me a fucking break. Oscar could outbox, outbrawl, outeverything that little coward. I would pick Oscar to knock Spinks out once he caught his punk ass in the later rounds. And I would rather see him fight Forbes than give that boring fraud a pay day.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
