fightnews reports that it did over 500K & the article you posted doesn't mention any figure for PPV buysOriginally Posted by Conrad

That's right. Considering that he moved up in weight drastically and faced a bigger guy, he didn't look THAT BAD. Actually, I was somewhat happy with his performance. Good body shots, cutting the corners, jab, hooks, straights, etc. Of course, didn't do much against the bigger guy. Going back to at least middle could bring some competition to that weight.Originally Posted by GAME
The article he posted said "over $2 million in PPV buys." Over $2M divided by $50 (price per buy) = over 400,000 buys.Originally Posted by SweetPea
uhhh 2 million divided by 50 gives 40,000Originally Posted by shza

Actually the # is 500,000 buys
ANd makes me wonder if there hasn't been a UFC event that same day the numbers would have been bigger

If this is legit I find it pleasently surprising, Mayorga Vs Vargas did 300,000 PPV buy's so I don't find it out of this world that this fight could put up 4
LOL that was a nice try on the calculations but it really does not work that way. You also have to add the pubs and other businesses that bought the fight. I saw a contract from a frind of mine that owns a pub and he had to pay 10 bucks per person that showed up. He had 90 people in the place, thats 900 bucks right there. And his place aint that big or popular.Originally Posted by chamiley
ESPN is now reporting that the fight actually grossed over 500K buys.Originally Posted by El Gamo
Dam man, fights like this are getting 500 k buys an difhts like Rafa v Isreal 1 can't even fill the arenas. Shit like this getting 500k and fights like Pavlik and Miranda can't fill arenas.Originally Posted by albsur2006

How do they possibly know how many people that turned up at every pub? There's no possible way they could know other than to have enforcers in every pub across America, and the costs of that would outweigh several hundred times the amount of money they would make from any PPVOriginally Posted by The Rookie Fan

Well I guess there is no way they could know for certain. But in this case he charged 10 bucks for entery. Everything he made at the door goes to Don King everything made at the bar goes to the owner. Yes the owner can cheat and say there was less amount of people than there actueally was. But there is also a minimum amount you have to pay. Don't know that number for sure.Originally Posted by Bilbo
