    Round 4:

Oakey stance is helping him, with his reaching jabs protecting him at the same time. Oakey landing some good hooks early on, but Haymer with a decent right hook. Uppercut from Haymer, but Oakey comes forward, digging to the body, then putting shots into Haymer's arms. Haymer is circling a little more, trying to stay at range. Oakey getting in close again, with some body shots. Haymer returns a couple of hooks, and Haymer with a good jab as Oakey misses a hook from some distance. Big right hook lands on Haymer as he comes forward, and Oakey comes forward with a surge of confidence. Oakey digging away still with hard hooks, some landing better than others. They touch gloves at the end of the round.

    Oakey's round.

    Round 5:

Haymer jabs, then a clinch. Nice right uppercut from Haymer, but Oakey keeps coming and digs to the body with hooks. Hamer with a couple of jabs, but Oakey is coming forward whatever is thrown at him. Left hook from Haymer, then Oakey gets inside, and digs punches to the chest of Haymer. Haymer with another left uppercut. Haymer landing better this round again, another fine uppercut as Oakey comes in. Lots of rubbing of heads in the clinches, and Oakey showing a small graze. Oakey plants his feet, and finds two wild hooks missing the target. Jab and straight right from Haymer. Uppercut from Oakey, but as they split Haymer digs in. Oakey is pushing and pushing, but still seems low on flush shots finding the target.

Haymer edging that one again for me.

    Round 6:

The pace here seems almost relentless, and its hard to see both fighters keeping it up for 12 rounds. Oakey coming forward again and again with smothering wide shots. Haymer shipping shots, but only landing jabs and occasional rights now and then. Oakey dominating the first half of the round. Oakey takes a body shot, then a jab right, but he's outworking Haymer, and Haymer looking almost exhausted in there, leaning on Oakey. Body shot from Oakey, and Haymer looking to clinch more often. Clean jab right again from Haymer, but Oakey with some fine hooks in the clinch, and doesn't give Haymer a minute's breather. Oakey's workrate takes him that round nicely.

    58-56 Oakey

    Round 7:

Oakey lunging out once again with long jabs. Jim Watt has Oakey 59-55, but I feel its tighter. Great exchange, with some big hooks from Oakey landing, but still taking some shots from Haymer. Oakey micxing it up with body shots, hooks and uppercuts in flurries, and Haymer looks pretty tired, even though Oakey's bleeding from the nose. Oakey warned for a low blow. Haymer's shots are straight, and a fine right hand, but Oakey is unfazed still swinging and working well. Good right hand from Oakey. Oakey has HAymer in the headlock in the clinch. Haymer takes a big left, and as they clinch Oakey's grinning over Haymer's shoulder. Haymer's left eye marked. Haymer lands good jab-right on the bell.

    Oakey's round

    68-65

    Round 8:

Haymer's corner urging him to dig deep and claim the title. Haymer with a decent jab and straight, but he seems one dimensional. Oakey pushes forward, and lays into the body.Haymer with some body shots and an uppercut, and he's giving a lot early on here. Haymer with a jab, and Oakey still swinging back. Haymer winces from a low blow. Uppercut from Haymer, but Oakey still comes back, and swings. Haymer clings on again, and he is digging deep. Good jab from Haymer. Oakey's still working in that awkward relentless style. Body shot from HAymer, and a fine right, and the ref warns Oakey again for punching behind the head. Haymer with a pair of hooks to the body. Oakey with some hooks, but Haymer working better with his guard as well.

    Haymer's round.

    Round 9:

Oakey comes out again, but Haymer with a counter jab and right. Oakey's falling short with some jabs. Nice jab from Haymer and OAkey swings and misses and goes into the clinch. Oakey working the body, and although looks fleshier also looks better going into the final third. Good right hand from Haymer as the longer reach pays. Oakey to the body nicely, and another couple of punches. Haymer moving the head out of the way twice, and beckons Oakey forward. Huge left hook, and Haymer looks done. Great shot from Oakey, and its all over. HAymer can't answer the count. Great Oakey finish!!!!

Well I think that'll be me calling it a day for this evening's action, very enjoyable fight capped with a devastating KO punch from Tony Oakey who isn't even considered a puncher. Moving to Johnny Eames' stable seems to have worked well for him.

Anyhow, I'll be back tomorrow night for the Khan St Clair fight, but Jennings v Minter also looks a goodie worth looking forward too, thanks to Lee.

    Nighty Night.

Firstly to the RBR is fellow scouser for myself Derry "Golden Boy, AKA Dirty" Matthews v Nikoloz Berkatsashvilli which is a warm-up bout for Derry however if he loses this he get's stripped of his WBU belt and stripped of the mandatory challenger position for the EBU belt.

When I mention Nikoloz's name I will say NB as it will take ages to type it.

Derry says "I've trained hard for this fight and I am treating this as for my world title, I also want to show my skills in front of the capital."

Action to follow after the break.
