The only thing that sucks for Calzaghe about this fight is that after he's done dominating Hopkins, everybody is going to say that Hopkins was too old and had this fight taken place ___ years ago that the result would have been different; when in reality, the Calzaghe of today would bury Hopkins at any point in his career.

It's too bad that Joe fought spent nearly his whole career in the UK, because had he come to America much earlier in his career, he would easily be a household name on par with Oscar Delahoya and Roy Jones Jr. Although I'm not so sure that he beats RJJ at 168.
CC for great post and I agree especially with the point that he would beat hopkins at any point in their careers.
Have u actually ever watched a prime Hopkins? To say that Calzaghe would beat Hopkins at any point in his career is just wrong. It would be a close fight that either man could have won.

I've seen many prime Hopkins fights, and still stick with my statement. Hopkins is an all time great, imo, but Joe Calzaghe is even better.

My comment was not aimed at u mate cos from reading your posts (other than the Zab ones) u do seem to have a reasonable knowledge of boxing. I dont like the way some guys only follow one fighter and just go on about how good he is.

Lets just let the fight happen, I can't see either guy putting on a boxing clinic though, Clazaghe is too fast, skilled, and in shape for B-Hop to do what he did against Tarver. And Hopkins is too good of a fighter for Calzaghe do to what he did against Lacy or even what he did against Kessler(he didn't really dominated that fight) because Hopkins is much trickier than either or both of them combined.

I am going with Joe C on this one...After the Kessler fight I became a true Calzaghe fan and true believer of his abilities......Calzaghe takes this fight on points and heads back home with a

Calzaghe looks very weak at S Middle. Im expecting the extra weight to really pay off for him and bash Hopkins up good style. Wont stop him, but it could be ugly.

Let's all be honest here.... does anybody have that small voice in the back of their mind that is telling them this is going to be a boring hit and hold fest with lots of head rubbing..

I can't help feeling I'm going to have that feeling I feel when I switch off the T.V, absolutely knackered after sitting up untill 4:00am thinking .. " Why the FUCK did I stay up for that!!"

Calzaghe wins close decision against Hopkins then gets hammered by Roy Jones Jr

It seems more like you have the problem with one Joseph Calzaghe.. which is clearly clouding your judgment as regards to the sites ruination at the hands of Calzaghe "fanboys".

Hell yeah I've seen him fight in his so-called prime. He was just as dirty then. He's a scumbag racist. Joe would have beaten hopkins at any point and u better believe that.

I just wish hopkins didn't have the built in excuse of old age right now so Joe would get his due credit when he beats him up. Winky beat hopkins but was robbed and any1 who doesnt think so is a biased hopkins fan. Winky faded late but still did enough early to wim despite hopkins despicable dirty tactics.

hopkins is gonna get beaten up and all I can say is, "better late than never".

All that dirty stuff won't work against Joe trust me. hopkins became a legend to u guys by beating 2 way undersized superstars of the sport. Period.

Hopkins will be fouling like a madman in there. I would normally pick Joe to win easily, but he has to be careful because Hopkins will be trying to cut him up and try to take Joe off his game plan. Hopkins more often than not gets away with with his tactics. He can make them look so accidental

Joe can get cut so you had better believe Bernard will try to exploit that weakness.

I agree that hes gonna try to foul like crazy. Its his only hope of making the fight respectable on points.

Oh,I so hope he beats up on Hopkins! I neeeeed to see that and I think the extra weight is going to help Joe immensely! I respect B Hop for his srecord but his style, his acting up for the cameras and BS coming from his mouth is just boring and annoying. I'm glad Joe hasn't stooped to his level.

And it's ironic but if Joe wins,B Hop was old,if B Hop wins,he'll get all the credit in the world!Hopefully he'll lose.
