mind over speed and power
Just reported on boxing scene that Forbes has fired Roger and hired Jeff Mayweather. Roger didn't show up to training on Thurs
This is all just BS! As soon as the De La Hoya vs Mayweather rematch was announced I immediately thought to myself "OH WOW, WHO GIVES A SH*T?!"
Yet another instance where De La Hoya is getting in the way for real fighters to shine (HANG UP THE GLOVES MAN!) and another chance for Floyd to delay fighting the real welterweights (MY RESPECT FOR HIM IS STARTING TO RUN THIN).
First it was Oscar hiring Floyd Mayweather Sr. to train him trying to stir up some drama. Now it's Floyd Jr. willing to hire Floyd Sr.?!?! CMON! They have to put all this outside drama to make up for the lack of drama that will be exhibited in the ring during the rematch!!!
With Quotes like the one below. I doubt a Mayweather/Cotto fight will ever happen.
RTÉ Sport: Mayweather threatens to drop trainer
"Mayweather, 39-0 with 25 knockouts in the boxing ring, stopped England's Ricky Hatton in the 10th round last December to keep his crown but resists the idea to fight rival champions such as undefeated Miguel Cotto, calling him one-dimensional and talking down his promoter, Bob Arum.
'I'm not going to fight those guys and make them big. They fight Floyd Mayweather that makes them big. I'm not going to let no more fighters piggyback on me,' Mayweather said.
'If Oscar de la Hoya wants one more chance to get his ass kicked, we can make it happen. If Ricky Hatton wants one more chance to get his ass kicked, we can make it happen.'"
