Tony Thompson is a pretty good fighter, perfectly worthy challenger given the division. He isn't a belt holder so it doesn't do anything as far an unification goes, but I say Thompson is easily a top three threat to beat Wlad, he's got good size, about 6'5 or so, he's a southpaw, pretty cagey, good skills.. I think he will make a decent fight out of it if nothing else, Wlad won't be able to just make a stinker of it and cruise through 12 with his jab imo. Doubt Thompson wins as he's not a real power puncher and he's not super fast, but he certainly has the potential to give Wlad some fits, he's not a one dimensional guy.

Also, he is slow. You need 2 things to beat Wlad...power and speed, and Thompson has neither. The ultimate heavyweight to beat Wlad would have been the young Mike Tyson. He would have simply annihilated him. As for Thompson, who has waited a long time for his shot and is very deserving, it´s a shame that it´s coming against the wrong guy. Thompson could beat Peter or Chagaev in my opinion. Expect Wlad-Thompson to look a lot like Wlad-Mccline. I believe it will be slowpaced, dull and one-sided, but hope I´m wrong.

By the way...Hi everybody. Nice forum you got here

    Look...

I don't mean to single you out, but you have so many things wrong here that I have to reply to this.

Anyone who knows this forum can verify that I have been talking about him and Nate Campbell for a while (check 'Arawak' on the search)...

He is EXACTLY what is needed to beat Wlad. Tony Thompson is the SAME SIZE, WEIGHT AND REACH as Lennox Lewis. Am I saying he is the same? No. I am saying he has the package. And what you call slow is acknowledged as fluidity in many circles.

No power...? Tell that to Krasniqi, who didn't win one round in his own country. Then he crushes Couser, whose chin reminds me of the Wlad Klit...

I have to disagree with you. By the way, I never said Tony has NO power, but he is an average puncher at best and certainly can´t be compared to Lennox Lewis, just because they are the same size. Not only doesn´t he punch nearly as hard as Lewis, he doesn´t punch as hard as the other 3 people who have stopped Wlad. There is nothing on his record to suggest otherwise after 32 fights. Luan Krasniqi is a good boxer but pretty fragile. By the time Lennox had his 32nd fight he was a 2 time world champion and had pretty much knocked out everybody except Tucker and Mercer. There´s no comparison. Thompson is the same size yes...and Tye Fields is even bigger, so what´s your point? It doesn´t even take a big guy to beat Wlad, assuming Wlad doesn´t tire...Just a hard punching one with speed and Thompson is not that.
