Oscar is still giving exciting fights, and as long as he fights different opponents he is still the best way for fights like Mayweather, Cotto, Margarito, anyone in proximity to his weight to reach mainstream. Oscar isn't needed in the sport, but he is still the greatest stepping stone for boxing stars to become sports stars.

i don't like the idea of a rematch, if it does happen i expect mayweather to start fighting the best welters.

Just got through watching the 1st fight....AGAIN and unlike last time when i had it 115-113 floyd, this time i scored it a dead even 114-114 with de la hoya winning that 8th round.

ODLH has the style to trouble mayweather and if he can get that left jab pumping for 12rounds........who knows!!!
Watched the fight numerous times.... Delahoya NEVER landed anything of meaning, Albeit the flurries on the ropes looked flashy but all were defended by Floyd.... Floyd dominated the last 1/2 of the fight and buzzed Delahoya 2x good and buckled his knees with a bodyshot..

115-113 to me is more than reasonable The fight was far from a draw

I had the same score... Had the jab stayed going it could have been a draw but as you said... He dominated the last 1/2 of the fight...

You know, I love to see whenever they talk about that fight when Oscar bulls Floyde into the ropes and hits him in the ribs like 6 times...

I always laugh... Lampley is like ,"and a sustained attack to the body by delahoya!"

The fuckin things did nothing but waste oscar's energy...

Mayweather dominated the last half, and he also won the first half.
