Can't stand Clottey's crying. Wsa the worst for me especially considering his hand was fractured not broken and TOny had injuries coming into the fight but fought like a warrior without crying about it.

The ones I thought had an effect: Williams having an off night v Quintana the first time. Gatti's injuries(the guy was a warrior). Can't think of any others.

I lost a couple fights to a big time smack talker. I was forced into using the player 2 control rather than the player 1 control like usual. So everything was backward. We switched controls and I ktfo him.

In relation to weight drain, I don't think that applies over 154.

In relation to hands, If a boxer can prove he broke his hand I will condone a terrible performance.

I can even condone the wrong socks excuse.

I dont believe that prime Roy Jones would have beaten the piss out of Vinny Pazienza had Vinny timed his coffee more precisely

I belive that Hamed had a stinking cold when he struggled with Medina. I dont believe that Scott Harrison had exactly the same problem with exactly the same fighter.

I dont believe that Evander Holyfield rubbed anything other than his fists into Bobby Czyz(SP?) eyes.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I buy very few of them, once you step in the ring whatever problems you have don't count anymore. I do belive miranda's excuse against pavlik since at least to me he didn't look like the same fighter, but even that one i don't like cause i still think it sucks to take away from another fighter win when he did what he needed to do to get ready.

Taking nothing away from Pavlik (he's an absolute beast), Miranda didn't look right that night.

Enzo mac claiming he was unlucky to get caught by haye.

Love big enzo to death but it was hardly like david wasnt hitting him hard before the knockdown.

Had enzo of used his ring savvy he would of taken a knee straight after that overhand right and given himself time to recover, instead he foolhardedly tried to show haye he wasnt hurt and that resulted in david getting the 7-8 punch combo that meant enzo would have no chance to recover within 10 seconds!!

Holyfield? The guy always had some kind of ailment that hindered his performance.

The Czyz fight there were ailments, the Moorer "heart attack" (Holyfield later said it was when the hospital gave him too much morphine), the hepatitis against Bowe (Holyfield said nothing about feeling sick until a couple months later), the busted eardrum against Ruiz, the leg cramps against Lewis, "Everyone knows I won the fight" after the Lewis rematch, etc...

I think Holyfield even claimed he won the first fight against Lewis.

I believe Vinny Paz's "I came down too fast from my caffeine high" against Roy Jones. Also, George Foreman's "I was about to knock Ali out but I got distracted because I saw my friend in the audience betray me by rooting for Ali" was dead on. And Hector Camacho Sr's "I was still bothered by a mean look that my mother gave me in the dressing room" excuse for his performance against Edwin Rosario.

No seriously, I rarely buy the excuses. One thing I might buy was the Fan Man crashing down. After a great previous two rounds for Holyfield, Bowe seemed to have been turning things around in round 7 and was having an excellent round, jabbing Holyfield seemingly at will before Fan Man crashed down. Bowe ended up losing round 7 on the cards when Holyfield did better after the break, and Bowe lost the title by 1 and 2 pts, after his pregnant wife got carried out of the arena on a stretcher.

I'm not really sure I bought into MAB's problems making a huge difference in the first Pac fight. Some do obviously. I do think Roy screwed his body up a bit going up to heavyweight and then coming back down for his fights with Tarver. Weight drain didn't help Toney versus Jones but I don't think it was a deciding factor. I'm not even a big Margarito fan at all but I have always been annoyed by the claim that Clottey would have dominated him if he hadn't "broken" his hand.

There are a lot of other ones obviously. Which seem to be the most believable to you and which seem like BS?

I belieeve Mabs excuse cuz the proof was in the ring . He did far better vs Pac when he was washed up so that night in Nov 03 it obvious he hadnt trained.

Roys excuse moving down I think was genuine too . It took some time to readjust to lightheavy but hes getting his bounce back now

I dont belive Pacs excuse of wearing the wrong socks for his 1st loss to Morales

I dont belive Hattons excuse vs Urango that he had a cold. It just looked liek he sensibly chose to box vs the stronger man .
