    Default WNF thread

Yeah here it is WNF you can bet on this fight in my sports book

    Roger Gonzalez 27-1-0 (18 KOs)

    - vs. -

    Cornelius Lock 17-3-1 (10 KOs)

Featherweight bout. Lock is coming down from 130 for this fight I am curious to see if he is stronger at this weight, if so it could be a very close match.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Happening an hour down the road here in Sacramento, unfortunately did not know in time to make any plans to attend. Oh well I hate going to Sacramento anyways.

Not a bad card though. I haven't seen Vincente Escobedo since he lost. Was a very hot prospect a couple years ago, an Olympian I am very interested to check his progress. Could put himself right back on the map with a good performance. Or he could get bit by the ESPN upset bug. Hopefully not.

Also see Francisco Santana on the card. I've followed him for a while, saw his pro debut. Used to be trained by McCollough, has some real talent and a lot of potential. Engaged in a very good scrap with San Francisco's Karim Mayfield on the undercard of Ward-Williams in San Jose. Ended up coming short on the judge's scorecard though I had it a draw and most others had Santana winning. Mayfield is a very awkward guy though, everything he has comes jumping from the outside and it gave a fairly textbook guy in Santana something to make him scratch his head. Eventually got it figured out and actually almost stopped him but was too late.

Big guy with a wide stance, good 1,2 and a lot of power. Actually had some people saying he reminded them of a young De La Hoya. I never saw it but a lot of others did. Let's see how he bounces back, I know he'll be looking to impress, think he will.

Never seen this Speedy Gonzalez and I can't put my finger on who Cornelius Lock is but I'm pretty sure I've seen him.

Have to work tonight like usual so like usual I will be taping it, or DVR'ing it I guess.

Lock is one of those guys I'm sure I've seen but has gotten mixed up in my head with a bunch of other fairly anonymous fighters. Gonzalez is another one, I know he got TKO'd by Johnny Gonzalez, which I guess is his only loss. I'm pretty sure I saw that, its nothing embarrassing to get stopped by Johnny. From boxrec I can see he beat Oscar Andrade, who, for what it's worth, is probably the best 36-32 fighter in the world although I suspect he's about past it now.

Sounds like a decent main event.

I rep'd everyone here but Legion, nothing personal, it just won't let me.

The follow up classic is Harry 'Kid' Matthews Vs.Irish Bob Murphy.... Anyone ?? The only thing I know is Murphy flattened Lamotta after this one then lost to Maxim.Talk about obscure.Hey at least it's not Leonard Vs.Hagler for the fifth hundredth time

Gonzalez is on a long road back....Lock could pull this off.
