Okay...who did Ottke beat to make him the greatest...an unexperienced Mundine(BTW even at his peek Mundine isn't really that good),a washed up Brewer or the numerous gifted decisions like Johnson or Reid...be realistic when Ottke went good conditioned into a fight he was a good boxer hell even a world champ, but nothing more...to say he was the greatest is just ridiculous...BTW I don't buy it that you are from Germany...

The Robin Reid fight wasnt a gift, Reid started well and just simply faded into near enough non existance, as for Glen Johnson that was a close fight Ottke caught him with enough to take the rounds and the judges caught that. If Anthony Mundine wasn't highly regarded he never would have got the fight in the first place. Charles Brewer was not over the hill he had competitive fights with good fighters after the two fights, and it was only Ottkes 12 professional fight so like Mundine pretty inexperienced

Ottke was a very good defensive fighter, very under rated. As for the Reid fight though that was a joke, Reid dropped him and hurt him and every time the ref would find something to give out to Reid for, he warned him for landing a hook! Reid would have ko'd him had it been a fair ref!
what was your take on the ref out of intrest?

Of course you would say this and even if it were true you can't be serious about the greatest stuff...The four names above were the best names out of Ottkes record and besides Johnson they are pretty average...BTW if you are really from Germany and such an Ottke fan you definitely would have picked up all the talk and preparation of Ottke and Michalczewski fighting each other and you would have known that this would have been more an exhibition than a real fight if it actually would have happened...to wish for Ottke to come out of retirement and fight Calzaghe and win is just delusional...Du bist ein Witzbold und ih kann dich nicht ernst nehmen nach solchen Aussagen...deshalb Adios...

I thought he made some worng decisions he was bit home sided but there were other things that he got correct like Reid hitting low, he was hitting below the navel which in the rule of the sport is deemed a foul. I don't like to see people cheated like Aurichs team tried doing to the English HW a while back.

I know all about Ottke v Michalczewski but it does not look like this will happen. The only reason Sven Ottke wants to fight again is because he has just split from his wife and needs the money

Must not be the greatest arbitrator.

I actually think Ottke was a pretty good fighter. To me he's actually some what underrated. i think he's gotten a bad rap as of late. I seen a lot of him recently. I been studying his fights. And he's been in a lot of close fights. But in all those fights i can make a case for him winning. So I don't call them gifts. Ottke had a fantastic jab. But what I liked the most about him was his fight schedule. He fought often. At least 4 times a year. Champions today fight like twice and that's it.

With that being said Ottke is nowhere near the greatest. Come on now.
