Congratulations, you're human. I had the opposite happen to me. I was doing general labor at a construction site and after I'd swept up inside this one house I went outside and saw beneath the plastic covering a pallette of bricks a tiny mouse. I'd never done anything like this before but for some reason I was compelled to pick up a brick and smash the mouse with it. It was surreal. A little bit of the mousy blood squirted up on the plastic. In traditional male fashion I stumbled around for the next few days with this heavy on my mind but not having any idea of how I really felt about it. Then I realized I was disturbed. I can't believe I actually did that. I don't know if I would have a problem using a lethal mouse trap, but I would pause if I had to choose between that and the non-lethal ones.
