    Default Hatton's Chin

I know this is gonna break down into a I heart Hatton/I think he's a fag debate but what can you do

I was just wondering about his chin, at 147 he definitely didn't seem to take punches well. I mean Collazo's no huge puncher whatsoever and he had Hatton hurt pretty bad and when was the last time Floyd Mayweather stopped anybody with one punch?

At 140 I guess he hasn't been hurt that often but I don't think of Lazcano as a huge puncher either and he definitely got Hatton's attention a few times. If I was a big Hatton fan I'd definitely be a bit worried about his chin even if he fought guys like Torres or Holt. I guess it doesn't matter in a Paulie fight.

So how would you rate his chin? Good, average, shaky? Some of you people probably don't even have to post as I'm pretty sure I know what you'll say but either way

Id say his punch resitance is leaving him. Even in his youth he never had the greatest of whiskers cuz Magee had him down and hurt but I do think his recovery skills were better back then

If you compare his punch resistance in the Tszyu fight where he seemed to walk through walls to his punch resistance in his last 2 fights then its fair to say he isnt what he was .

I wouldnt describe Hatton has chinny though cuz he only has 1 defeat and been down 3 times in his long career at the top . But as you say Floyd doesnt usually spark guys with 1 shot .

I agree. Hatton has a good chin IMO, but perhaps it's the recovery that's been affected since his fitness has very gradually left him.

Certainly at 140 and healthy he has one of the better chins out there, especially considering he has a style which ships a lot of punches since the tzyu fight.

I think his punch resistance and recovery time have gone somewhat due to his bad life style, Look at what he eats and look how many times he gets pissed that will catch up to any boxer eventually. And look how fat he gets inbetween fights he keeps balloning up in weight and having to lose 30 pounds and sometimes more for majority of his fights and that will take a toll on your body. But thats just my opinion anyway.

Hatton could be the first to be knock out twice by both p4p king in a few years between

    I think it's pretty good.

It was built up as iron-like after the Kostya fight but that's never been the case.

He was in trouble earlier on in his career against Quiros, Magee, Phillips and even Ben Tackie. Then later on against Collazo, Mayweather (with the KO) and Lazcano.

That's why i got annoyed when people were urging him to retire after getting rocked by Lazcano. Those people seem to forget that earlier on his career he was equally as hurt by much lesser fighters.

I think all in all it's pretty solid. Most fighters get hurt at some stage.

after the kosta fight i would say he had a iron chin, his chin today is below average.

Well His Chin doesn't quite match up with his Testicular Fortitude.
    Hes more brave than tough.

He gets wild, he gets hurt.

Hes been down twice in his career; Once a flash KD, the other a punch by the p4p number 1.

He gets hurt in a fight like any other human being would being hit by another professional boxer. It doesnt happen often and he stays up 98% of the time, thus showing his chin is still there.

If we are being technical i suppose you could say that 2nd knockdown in the mayweather fight was void as ricky hadnt actually hit the canvas when it was stopped.

But in reality its 3 knockdowns!!
    one dangerous horrible bloke

Collazo dropped him in the 12th. But the ref blew the call
