An army of Povetkin fans today invaded Wladimir Klitschko´s press conference in Hamburg. A doubledecker bus loaded with 25 flag-waving Russian models, who were dressed in army uniforms, created a special party atmosphere. Joining the scene were a ring announcer in a black-tie outfit as well as a DJ. The Povetkin army handed out Russian vodka, Russian sweets and Povetkin t-shirts ("Klitschko – I want you") to the local fans. The army was there to remind Klitschko that he has to make a mandatory defense against Povetkin later this year. "Thompson has deserved to fight me. He has waited for one year," Klitschko commented during today's presser. "Povetkin is still young. I am happy to give him the time to prepare for me." Povetkin could not join his army in Hamburg today as he is in the final stages of the preparation for his July 19 showdown with Taurus Sykes which will take place in Chekhov, his home town.
