the heavyweight division is dead, haye is just a loud mouth. The heavyweight division sucks lets all face it. Wladdy is the only hope but its getting more and more clear his not going to be the ONE!

I was thinking about this the other day when a heard someone on an old fight (espn classic) say how much the people love the heavyweights.

The only 2 heavyweights ive ever liked watching are Ali and Tyson, and ive watched boxing to some extent for at least 18 years.

But maybe most casual fans are more about the knockouts than me. I like watching counterpunchers and technical, exciting boxing as much as a war.

As far as MMA goes, i like it, but u dont see as many nice combinations as in boxing and the ground shit makes me want to turn it usually.

I agree with Spicoli and Wesrman - but my point is that the heavyweights of bygone days were absolutely incredible to watch.

    Ali-Frazier, Holmes-Norton, Holyfield-Bowe.

Those guys were schooled. When I see Klitschko fight (either one of them of for that matter) he looks like a 250lb kid having his first amateur fight. Don't even get me started on Thompson.

They are so robotic it's embarrassing. No footwork, no style, no grace - just big lumbering idiots. It's sad, because they are both nice cool guys, I just don't like watching them fight.

I'm sorry if that appears harsh, but it's the way I feel - not just about the Klitschkos but about most heavyweights.

Everyone is right - all the coordinated American kids of that size must be playing basketball or football - coz there is no way you could call any of the american heavyweights coordinated.

Just look at how bad Eddie Chambers (probably the most promising American heavyweight I've seen) technique is. His defensive technique consists of covering up and staggering backwards

Seriously, Lewis really heralded the era of the super heavyweight - the guys these days are too damn big. They don't have the speed, endurance or co-ordination that is required to make an entertaining fight anymore.

    They need to be smaller.

They need to cap the heavyweights at 235, then have all these big degenerates and wads of cookie dough passing themselves off as champs in a super heavyweight division - more of a freak show or special attraction type of division.

Anybody else feeling my pain here?
Personally enjoy watching Wlad Klitschko fight. He's a very skilled boxer and he receives too much flack for his fights.

Really not gonna bother with the entire post.
Cause I've read it all before.
It wasn't the greatest fight by a mile. But it was entertaining to see. If what you want is Lennox then pull out the DVDs or get on YouTube.
Wlads, Wlad and he does the job.
Back in 2000 when he was on the rise it was the same thing.
"The Byrd win was good but Vitaly had already prepted him"
"Mercer was past it, and came in bad shape"
    "Botha, come one"
"McCline went the distance with Briggs"

    Then he looses to Corrie.
"You see I knew it, I knew he'd loose the second he fought a puncher" Get the fuck out of here.
    He looses again.
"He's done, he's lost twice by KO and wont hang he cant go the distance he has stamina problems and his chin will fail him"

"He was lucky when he beat Peter"
"Who cares about the Byrd win he was done"
"Brock who? Come on Brock was nothing he hadn't done anything"
"He beat Sultan but that was a weak showing by him"
"He KO'd Tony but it was a weak showing"

    So anyway heres some advice....

    1. Change the title in your avatar to read UFC
    2. Your in the wrong board

Going to have to defend myself a little here Mick.

I have always heartily detested UFC - but if that shit on Saturday was the best that the heavyweight division can throw up then I won't be watching anymore heavyweight fights in a hurry.

I LOVE boxing - but that fight wasn't boxing. Pavlik-Taylor was boxing. Calzaghe-Kessler was boxing. Hell, even Jones Jr-Trinidad was closer to boxing than what those two put on.

I don't hate Wlad - he seems like a very nice man, I just think that he is a piss weak heavyweight champion who isn't fit to lace the gloves of Lewis, Tyson, Bowe or Holyfield. Hell, he isn't even fit to lace the gloves of his older brother, truth be told.

His technique is shocking, his footwork appalling and he seems badly gassed after a couple of rounds.

I won't go into analyzing his entire career like you did. Why would I even bother? He's terrible to watch and I certainly won't be watching him fight again.

Someone should shoot the entire heavyweight division, make Ali, Frazier, Tyson and any decent living heavyweight donate some sperm and wait 20 years and start over.

    So, anyway, here's some advice:-

    1) Accept the fact that the heavyweight division is as poorer now than at any other time in it's history.

    2) Accept the fact that Wlad isn't making it any better

    3) Accept the fact that I'm allowed to feel this way, I am a massive fan of BOXING, and that my point has some validity.
