I'm no massive enzo fan and he can be extremely annoying but then on the flipside he's a character and its good to have characters in the sport, I think its best just to not take his rants too seriously, if you dont the he's funny as f*ck, he's a bit of a mentalist! As for this piece he's not really saying anything thats not the truth is he?

Look at Joe C when he fought old Hopkins, he can’t put a convincing performance considering he fought a past prime fighter. The truth is Joe C was exposed in that fight with Hopkins that a 43y/o can put Joe’s ass in the blue mat (even if that was an off balance or whatever reason Joe C call it). British media are over the top in crediting their Brit fighters. Enzo knows it that’s why he is blaming the media on pressuring Amir.

Regarding trainers, well, he is acting like a member of the Mayweather family. The only difference is that the Mayweathers talk but they back it up and already proven great trainers w/ excellent fighters in their stable. Enzo talk s*** against other trainers but who has he trained world class besides Joe C (a protected fighter at best)? Stewart, Roach, Birmingham and others with the exception of Floyd never discredit other trainers’ ability. But they are the sought after trainers in the world of boxing. The great Lennox Lewis a Brit, work with Manny Stewart, look what he had achieved. Compare that to Joe C who can’t even unify all the belts at SMW division to where he reigns for what 10 years. Let’s wait after Joe C retires if Enzo can produce a world class fighter. Until then he better shut the f*** up... Amir can go anywhere he wants. That's what a fighter should do.. looking for the best and be with the best.. whether its in america or at home...
You dont know what your on about

How can a fighter who hasnt been beaten in 11 years as a champ and did unify the super middle division and landed more punches than anyone could including Jones on Hopkins be overrated?

How many of Stewards champs have been produced by him and how many have gone to him after being established, look at Cintron, Taylor and lee recently.

Then you have Hamed! He cant work wonders!

Enzo has quite a few fighters now on all different levels and all have a good record, some have lost recently but to very good fighters, Enzo got them where they were.

    That is rubbish.

Barrera totally destroying Paul Lloyd and Richie Wenton, Mosley destroying Adrian Stone, are cases of Brit fighters being "exposed" when upped into world-class.

    Vargas-Clarke, Trinidad-Lueshing, Pavlik-Lockett, etc...

Hatton, Naz and Calzaghe are all PROVEN world-class fighters.

Naz was defeated ONCE by a GREAT. Hatton has ONE loss to a GREAT.

Calzaghe had been floored before Hopkins. Instead of focusing on the negative, how about the fact he got up - and WON the fight. A lesser EXPOSED fighter would never have beaten Hopkins let alone win after getting off the canvas

I was watching the Steve Bunce boxing hour a few weeks ago on Setanta (pretty good) and Enzo nearly got booted off the live phone chat for calling someone in the fight game a fucking wanker hahahaha
Proper character is Enzo and the fight game needs people like that.

Exactly he's a character and every sport needs characters. I think if you dont take his lunacy too seriously he's quite funny. And even though he might not put it across the best way he could the man knows what he's on about.

    Who was Enzo talking about?

I find him fairly funny to be honest. He rants like a madman but seems like a harmless caricature. He often gets well tetchy with the woman who interviews him in the Frank Warren tv clips on youtube.

Enzo was funny in the Pavlik Lockett fight after the second round. At first he tells Lockett to calm down twice, then starts ripping into him like a madman.

I was thinking great way to get him to calm down Enzo!LOL...Classic stuff.

None of those British fighters were world level, in fact isnt Clark still hanging around as a journeyman?

We could name all the mexican roadsweepers that British fighters beat in the 90's as British are better than Mexicans but they were just bought over as opponents, not to be competetive

    Yeah.. and?

When upped to world-level those fighters were thoroughly exposed. They were out of their depth.

Naz, Calzaghe and Hatton are all GENUINE proven world-class fighters. They are NOT hype jobs.

    Ah, shaddappa yo' face POB!!!

You leave poor Enzo alone, or he'll send the brigade over to get ya!

But seriously...he's always been a big talker, and he's had that freedom by bringing Joe up through the ranks to the very top, and that's got him plenty of mikes shoved in his face.

In reality though, I'm not convinced that it is a reflection on British coaches that Khan is looking to the US. The fact is that the big gyms over there are likely to have more strength in depth in terms of sparring, and certainly more experienced gatekeepers that he can meet and learn from. Look at the list that Calzaghe puts forward....seven names Khan could spar with in Newbridge, of which at least four are younger and more inexperienced than himself. He needs old heads to learn from, smart move I think.

"Slaps" not "punches" is the proper word for that statement. He may numerically have been the most effective against Hopkins, but none of his punches had any effect on him. After the fight was over, Bernard looked like he came back from a long jog. I don't even know the exact number Joe landed, but there sure wasn't any evidence of it on Bernard's face.

He landed somewhere around 12 and the only meaningful one was landed by BHop and dropped PittyPat Joe on his hind quarters
