Yea you people will talk til the actual fight happens i still think the same Clottey will be the new guy to hold down welterweight if its not Paul Williams believe it or not Margarito is trash he has no technique it only a matter of time just watch if you add there loses its still not more than Margarito loses.....
Clotty has the ability to be the man at welter but the rest of your post just lost me.
I'm going to neg rep you because of the fact that you have the balls to call a man "trash" after he effectivly dismantled one of the best P4P fighters in the world. How the hell can you even justify that comment?
Did you even see the fight? He willed his way past Cotto... Sheer guts determination, chin and workrate... Margo has the ability to box a bit but chooses not to as he would rather go through a target then around it.
The second part of your post is idiotic...

I've seen Clottey fight and no doubt he's got some skills but call me crazy, i was not impressed in his fight against Judah.. I thought Judah had won the fight when it went to the cards because clottey wasn't doing anything.. Judah obviously doesn' thave the power anymore at welterweight to do any real damage but he was smacking clottey around most of the fight..
So, not only are you saying that he beats Margarito, but that he holds down the WW division? I just don't see anything superhuman about this guy to say such a thing.. he fought Margo and lost, and i see that happening again.. In fact i think his best matchup would be against Tony because he's going to stand toe to toe and fight.. if Clottey fought Cotto, he'd have some problems..
Always was bothered by the bullshit talk about how people knew Clottey would have won if he hadn't "broken" his hand. Clottey doesn't like the kind of pace Margarito sets. His conditioning is suspect and he has had a habit of fading late while Margarito is as good a closer as anybody in boxing. But of course that had nothing to do with it, it was just Clottey's "broken" hand.
I think Clottey's injured hand changed the tone of the fight, but that isn't the only determining factor. It's just as irresponsible to counter Clottey's injury with Margarito's injury. None of us knows how much more or less either fighter's injury effected his game than the other guy. Some guys have a positive response to pain. You could just as easily make the argument that because Margarito was hurt that he fought even harder as opposed to Clottey not fighting well. They're 2 different people. Clottey was winning and then after he hurt his hand he wasn't. That also has something to do with Margarito. He didn't just stand there and let Clottey hurt his hands on his face and then start fighting. Clottey was still active, just not active enough and that, in part, is due to what Margarito was doing in the ring.
Oops
I think one or two guys when posting on this must have been drunk.
Margarito is not garbage. He just destroyed the man who alledgedly ran Mayweather into retirement.
Clottey is not busy enough to beat Margarito. I doubt Clottey threw 1675 punches in his last 2 fights never mind in one.
Clottey has talent but there are a few welterweights that would beat him.
Clottey in my opinion was not losing against Zab.
Zab, after getting cut by what TV shows was a left uppercut, decided to quit and go to the cards as he thought he was winning.
Clottey landed more punches than Judah according to compubox
All in all, my view is that Clottey won and the right decision was read out by the judges. It should have been a TKO victory anyway if the TV angles of the uppercut was correct.
Tip of the month: Protect yourselves at all times. You never know when the scheming bitch will come back for more.
You have to admit it had an immediate effect on his performance though. I think people in trying to discredit the broken hand take it to far the other way. It's not as if Clottey simply gassed out entirely after 5 rounds but then still had enough to hang for the remaining 7 and go the distance absorbing punishment. He definetly stopped throwing with the same conviction after the 4th or 5th(cant remember), and in between the rnds he is complaining to his corner about it. No way he just suddenly didn't have the stamina, he was raking Margo with a lot of hard counters that just stopped coming. Sure, Clottey has suspect stamina in the late rounds, but Margarito is actually a pretty good stylistic matchup for him regardless. I think Clottey struggles most with his stamina when he is forced to set a pace or come forward himself. With Margarito he's always going to have oppourtunities to land the harder cleaner counter shots, as Margo can't hurt him with a single punch or make him set the pace. I'd pick Clottey over Margarito in a heartbeat if they did sign to a rematch. Wouldn't put much money on it given the chance, but I'd definetly favour Clottey to win.
The first fight was very close that could go either side, and Clottey could earn that victory. Both of them are strong welters and in a rematch I expect another exciting, close fight, and I will not be surprised with a draw.
