Default Quickly, For People Who Have Ever Made Ground Beef

Now this might be a bit El Gamo for you all, but I have no idea how to cook. I'm semi living on my own, my mom bought me a bunch of meat from a butcher I guess under the assumption that I know how to cook. I have a bunch of ground beef, I want to make some of it. Problem: I don't know how. I've tried looking on the internet, but it seems that everyone thinks that you go into the recipe at least knowing how to cook the ground beef without actually giving you instructions for that part. I'm in a bit of a bind here, so please, someone tell me how to cook the ground beef until it's brown. I have sloppy joe mix, I want sloppy joes but I need to know how to at least do the most basic of thing cooking. What setting do I put the pan on is basically what I'm asking.

OK, I guess I should have googled how to "brown ground beef" before this because that was my answer.

This person is my savior right now. Now time for the real adventure. I regret ever making this thread now.

Make a Sheperds Pie!!! Or else a simple Mince and onion with Mashed Potatoes all laced with gravy is good.

Minced beef is easy stuff to work with...internet is a great resource.

My mom makes Shepards pie, it's one of the few foods from the south that I really really like.
