    Theres few examples.
Boxrec says that in the first Hopkins vs Allen fight, the fight had to be stopped after Mills Lane Pushed Hopkins out of the ring. I never heard of this. What happened?
The fight was starting to get rough and Mills lane went to break a clinch and accientally sent Hopkins through the ropes.

Some people think Hopkins faked the injury to the knee. Because Allen was actually wining the fight and was begining to gain momentum.
I haven't seen the fight in a long time but I think that's how the fight was going. I have about 30 Hopkins fights and I know I haven't seen them all but I've seen the Allen trilogy for sure...
Going through this just now Hopkins had a couple of rematches he shouldn't have what the hell did he fight Echols twice for?

The fight was even up till Hopkins fell out of the ring, I don't think it was his knee that he hurt. Could of been but i think it was his shoulder, i will have to check it out later.

Elchols became number 1 IBF contender making Hopkins fight him a second time, both fights were actually quite good. Second one was a dirty fight though.

Well Hopkins vs Echols 1 was competitive as i remember it i only had Hopkins winning by a few points because Echols tired in the later stages, i remember Echols being unlucky aswell not having a knockdown scored over Hopkins in the 1st round, but yes your right there was no real need for the rematch it wasn't controversial win the first time, and while were on the subject. Hopkins vs Echols 2 was one of the dirtiest fights i've ever seen.

It might seem pointless now but not at that time.

When JCC sparked him out in 2 it was a shocker. Especially cause he had just stepped into world class as opposed to Roger who was a former Champ. and had been on the world stage for a couple of yrs.

Leading up to the fight Roger was just like his nephew. Talking loud and saying he was gonna destroy JCC. He was gonna do this and that....

Well, JCC gets him out fast. Then came the whole weight talk from Roger saying he had issues and blah! blah! blah!

Roger went flew up to 140 where years later it happened that JCC was highly ranked by his good from Sulaiman in the WBC ranks and Roger was the champ. A rematch because of the shocking win by JCC and the weight excuse.
While Roger lasted longer the outcome was the same, JCC won.

I don't think it was pointless especially because it wasn't an imidiate rematch and because it just happened years later. JCC was highly ranked and Roger happened to be the champ. The outcome of fight #1 was just the topping on the cake.

You know which JCC rematch was pointless?
    vs. ODLH.
Now that was a pointless rematch.
