Default I think this showed how much best ODLH is than Mosley at this point

Mosley didn't even look close to as good as De La HOya dida gainst Mayorga. I know this isn't the best fighter for him to face, but he wasn't able to control the fight half as much as Oscar did.... I am glad for Cotto's sake that he didn't face Oscar after Margarito.

yeah agree with the fact that Mosley didn't look nearly as good against Mayorga as De la Hoya did. i still don't know if i would say I'm glad Cotto didn't fight Oscar, but it would have been a great fight. styles make fights

Mosley's best days are behind him. I think it's best if he retires. I would hate see to him take a bad beating by some young fighter he would of toyed with in his prime

All it showed was that Oscar at this stage is more comfortable at 154 . t doesnt mean he is better cuz they could meet at 147 again and Mosley could school him . . . . . again

Despite what all you guys think, i still think Oscar looses to Cotto and Shane at 147.

He would knock Cotto out, I love Cotto, but Oscar is the hardest hitter he would face in his career, and the best fighter. Oscar is a faster, he has a better chin, he is bigger, he has a similar style to Cotto.

Don't get me wrong if Cotto had better durability I think he beats Oscar, Mosley, Margarito, anyone else except Floyd, but he doesn't, so all these guys that can take shots and hit harder then Mosley IMO are stoping Cotto.

    Quite simple...

    1. Size difference (if you didn't see it your blind)
    2. Styles make fights

Anyone who judges SSM on last nights fight is blind IMO.

Give me a break, Mosley didn't school him in either fight, and he certainly didn't win the second fight. It isn't about Oscar being more comfortable at 154. Its about Mosley only relying on speed, while Oscar has speed along with a lot better boxing skills. If Mosley outboxed Mayorga as dramatically as oscar did I would agree that he didn't take Mayorga out later being of the weight, but he clearly wasn't even boxing all that well.

Oscar chose to counter punch and fight off a good hard jab. Mosley just went in thinking he could bomb Mayorga out and found his timing was off.

Lets hope Shane sticks to 147 and works off his jab he is getting involved in to many wars.

you can not call a fighter purly on one fight. We would have to see what shane looks like in his next fight to really see what has happened to him. there is a very very good chance that this was a one off bad fight for mosley.

Whos to say that he just didn't really bother for Mayorga 'coz he thought he would walk right through him? you see it time and time again in world class fighters, fighting a gimmi fight to stay busty and look good, Mayorga was hand picked so obviously they figured Shane would have very few problems, he may of trained physicaly to look good, but how much work did he do training for the actualy guy he was fighting?

We wont know until his next fight, if he looks good and does well yes you could argue it may off been mayorgas style, but i would put it down to bad prep work for the fight and not respecting him enough. If he looks bad in his next fight, then he has just aged to much for the sport.

Does anyone know how much Mayorga weighed come fight night against De La Hoya? If they both came in at 160 I think Mayorga would get taken out sooner.
    Oops

If you're judging them on how they both dealt with Mayorga you can't argue with a 6 round pasting ODLH gave him More people should have talked smack to him before his fights.

Other thoughts. SM looked small & his timing was off (that could have due to rm looking to rough him up) then somehow it started to come together in round 11 & he was able to start landing those right hands. Could have been fatigue or over confidence from Mayorga.
