Default Hatton - Juan Manuel Marquez?... hell yes, indeed

I'll exorcise MGM ghosts | The Sun |Sport|Boxing

He added: “There are more defining fights ahead for me."

“Juan Manuel Marquez is thinking of moving up to light-welterweight and then there’s Oscar De La Hoya versus Manny Pacquiao at the end of the year."

I'd love to see Hatton v JMM or ODLH...

can't make any predictions yet, 'cause I don't the full gravity of Mayweather, Sr on Ricky's style; according to the article, he's making some big changes.

-Is jr Welter too heavy for JMM to be effective?

-Could the "old" Hatton beat an effective JMM at jrWW? Could he beat ODLH right now? How about the Pac-man?

-Is ODLH really going to keep cherry picking smaller fighters the rest of his career? (looks that way)

Ricky Hatton being the bigger/stronger man could be the difference in the fight. But then theres also JMM's excellent countering abilities which is all wrong for Ricky Hatton's style. Who has been wide open for shots lately especially as he lunges in. Good fight though i would stay up and watch it though for certain.

Well, win or loss against Paulee, Hatton can always take the JMM fight... JMM is small for 140...

I also have doubts about that.. Hatton might just walk through JMM's punches tho JMM is an accurate counter puncher...

If Hatton gets thro Paulie i think it would be a good fight.JMM has the technical skill to make Hatton think but i think the weight will be a big factor and Hatton would walk him down and bully him on the inside.

I really don't think JMM should be fighting at 140.
I think it's a bad idea even 135 to me he was looking a bit too full around the body.

I think the best thing for him to do is try and get a fight vs. Nate, I think it would be great.

Then if possible try for a 4th weight title vs. someone like Kotelnik who I think he can beat. I don't think Hatton is a good fight for him, I'm just going by what JMM looked like at 135 and to have someone like Ricky at 140.

I think it's about the money and for some, to cement their legacy along the way.

I agree. He should fight some more of the top lightweights. It will make it so Pacquiao can't hide from him anymore and JMM can get what he wants. If he does fight Hatton, he will be stealing a future fight from Pacquiao because that's the fight they want after Oscar. But, TBH, I think Hatton will fight the winner of the Pac/Oscar fight.

I think Hatton fights Mayweather again next year at Wembley to be honest.

See Mayweather coming out of retirement to tackle his estranged Dad's protege. It's a little bit Hollywood but i reckon it will happen.

But at 140 with hattons "old" style (pre-floyd sr), he eats mannies leather all night.
