You gotta be kidding me, Lewis was DONE. When the ref asks a fighter to put his hands up, and said fighter responds by stumbling into the ref, thats when you pack it in.

Yeah Lewis put his hands up, but at the same time, he fell into the ref. Had the ref not been there he would have went down Trever Berbeck Style.

I seem to remember something about him not feeling he should HAVE to fight Lewis because the sanctioning body ordered it....So by saying no and throwing the belt in the trash was his way of rebelling

Lewis would have beaten Bowe i think it would have been harder than most think but Lewis would have won i think Bowe was slightly mentally scarred from the 1988 olympics loss to Lennox.

Rock Neuman (Bowe's manager) has said that, after winning the title, he wanted Bowe to make a couple easy defenses, in order to makes some money before fighting a legitimate threat. (If you remember, Bowe's first two defenses were against a very old Michael Dokes, and Journeyman Jessie Fergison).

However, the WBC demanded that Bowe Fight his mandatory Lennox Lewis, in his very first defense. Accordingly, Bowe went for the easy money and trashed the WBC title.

At the time their was a public backlash against Bowe, because it was believed by everyone involved, including HBO, that Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis and Ruddick where fighting a four fighter tournament to determine heavyweight supremacy in the wake of Mike Tyson's imprisonment.

Yeah and Bowe thought Holyfield would be an easier choice ( but he lost that fight )

Bowes record is actually pretty good.He has only 1 loss and that was to a guy hes beaten twice anyway and it was very close. However if he met Lewis at any point of his career , Bowe would have been knocked out and of that Im certain .

Lewis was vulnerable until he got with Manny. Bowe's best was when he first fought Holyfield. So in theory had he fought Lewis after the Holyfield fight that was his best chance to get the victory. Only problem was Bowe's weight sky rocketed in his subsequent fights because they were easy fights against Dokes and Ferguson.

If they had met in 1992 Riddick Bowe would of won, Lennox Lewis was far too reckless at that point. And like Master said he had some poor showings against Tony Tucker, Frank Bruno.
Riddick Bowe could NEVER beat Lennox Lewis as long as he lived.
Best part was Bowe KNEW IT!!
That McCall fight deal was BS Rock Newman would never let Bowe fight Lewis or he'd lose the goose that layed the golden egg
