I'm a let you in on a little secret Smash. Only 3 people know so far. Me, David Haye and Lyle. This is privileged information. It was not meant to be put out there. Not yet. But I feel the need to bring you back to reality. So be grateful (and yes your are going to owe me one.) You ready? Here it comes.

Haye is a fraud. He's talented. No doubt. But so were Michael Grant, Jo-el Scott and Audrey Harrison. Haye has failure written all over him. And he knows it. All his talk is just that. Talk. It's all show. He just wants to get paid before it becomes public knowledge that he's the next "big miss". To his credit, he's not a stupid man. He knows how to go about things. He knows he running his mouth and calling everybody out will gather him a following. He knows him being the ruler of a weak Cruiserweight division carries some weight. He knows the public opinion of the Heavyweight division is a bad one. He used all that to his advantage. And it worked.

Haye has position himself (with the public's support) for a big money fight with one of the Klitschko brothers. Not because he wants to beat the best. But because it would pay him the most. Haye doesn't deserve a title shot. He hasn't earned it (what he did at Cruiserweight means nothing at Heavyweight). And he knows it. But the last thing Haye wants to do is earn one. The risk are to great. Earning a title shot means fighting people like Chris Arreola, Juan Carlos Gomez, Eddie Chambers. Fukk that. He gets knocked out and the charade is over. No big money. So he looks for the easy fights. Old ass Hasim Rahman. Can't get him. Fukk it. It's old ass and small Monte Barrett. Even better. From what I hear Ray Mercer was on speed dial if Barrett didn't accept.

Haye gets his easy win. And looks like his big fight as well. Mission accomplished. He'll get paid. But he won't win. Cuz he can't win. He's not even there to win. He's there to get paid. Afterwords he'll disappear. Naseem Hamed fashion. A rich man. That's it. I know it. He knows it. Lyle knows it. And now you know it. And so does the rest of the forum. So enough with Haye is God posts. They are hilarious. But also foolish

And don't forget. You owe me.
You know they won't listen. They all think Calzaghe dominated Hopkins. Some of them even think Jennings will give Cotto a fight. It's hopeless. They will find out soon enough.

And nobody can accuse me of being a Brit-hater. I've always been an advocate of Lewis's greatness and a big fan of Hatton.
Even if you hated British fighters, doesn't mean you hate Brits, just means you haven't found a fighter you're a fan of. Personally though, I believe Haye deserves a shot as much as anyone at Heavyweight. Considering the lack of quality, I'd say Cruiserweight domination qualifies you for a chance. Would people moan if it was a lower weightclass he had dominated and moved upto? And his big mouth and promotion will probably get him his shot. I honestly can't understand how people think Wlad will be invincible against him. He's champion by default right now, and sooner or later somebody will finish him. Haye can't beat Vitali though, not a chance.

I'm not even saying Haye doesn't deserve his shot. A unified champion from a lower weight class has the right, in my book, to get a title shot in pretty short order after moving. All credit to Haye for his CW accomplishments, and they do count in my book as considering him a quality fighter.

But...in many cases, the lower weight champion can't compete with the top people in the higher division, especially going from CW to HW where the size difference is so pronounced. Haye could have hung around CW for a few more years and created a legacy as one of the top CW's. There would have been some good fighters for him there, like Adamek, but as much money as he has made, he'll double his net worth with One big match against one of the Klitchkos. I don't blame him, but I'm not buying the hype. A year ago, half of this forum had anointed Amir Khan as the next great LW and expected he should be fighting the Diaz by now. Is there a person around now who would bet on Khan over Nate, Diaz, or even Kats? Never mind all the talk about Audley developing into anything.

Haye will get his paycheck and his ass handed to him soon enough. Enjoy it while it lasts, Haymaker fans.

Eubank and Naz both did the same and got paid. Both won many fights and won many title fights - Haye already was a 3 belt holder at Cruiserweight and he did that the Professional way - win the British title then beat the best in Europe.(No easy route)
Struggled at the weight but hung around for his shot and took it - in the champions backyard. (An Englishman is never the most welcomed of people in France) Then Unified and gave the UK fans a fight they wanted to see against Enzo Mac.

I think the most anti Haye are the Yanks but they always have been when its come to UK Heavyweights - so no surprises there but now it is laughable as there isn't a US Heavyweight in the World that is any good anymore - Kirk Johnson (or is it Kevin?) and 'fat' Chris are the best and they are practically novices.

Haye may fail - after all he'll be giving away weight and height in most fights but the man will go down trying and cause excitement - What will the US Heavy's be doing? Wheeling out Rahman again?, Locking Arreola's fridge? We already had the excitement of Calvin Brock and Tony Thompson ZZZzzz.. maybe Shannon Briggs - is he still fighting?

What has happened to US Heavyweight Boxing - it would be laughable if it weren't so sad.

You better hope Haye succeeds cos the division will go back to it's comatose state otherwise.

Spot on. I think the once great american HW's disapperance is a lot of the reason for their somewhat jealous sounding posts (I know not all americans are Haye bashing). But for the sake of boxing and the spectacle that a HW title fight used to bring us we need David to succeed. He's exciting and he has finally got people talking about the glamour division after years (Well actually since the last great british heavyweight).

I know Haye certainly isn't the second coming of Ali but I think he has what it takes to beat Wlad (a big punch) and Vitali is no spring chicken. I think he's going on 38. Look throughout history that is usually when the wheels have either come off or they have certainly started to. And with the way boxing politics is, after Haye dismantles Wlad and Vitali gets in the ring with him, the older klit will more than likely be 39 and Haye will be in his prime. Ali lost to the crappy Berbick aged 39 (although his parkinsons had clearly begun to show) so logic says a prime man could take an old man especially when he has the speed advantage and the power Haye carries!

Minus the Hamed comments.....I have been trying to get those same things through their head since all this Haye/Wlad talk began

Haye will be banished by the Brothers Grimm.....Severly
