Alomar didn't say anything about his son on the field. He said it in the interview afterwards. When the ump heard about that he tried to rush to the lock room Alomar was in. But was held back. If he would of said it on the field, I'm sure a fight would of broke out.
To me Alomar as a bad ass player. He'll be in the Hall of Fame soon.
Well I talked to my friend again this morning, and she let me know that it really bothered her, so she called her friend who is married to Sandy Alomars ex-wife, and who is close to Robbie, and said that it's all bull$hit. In her suit she's saying shit like he had to have a spinal tap to find out if he was HIV, and of course we all know that all you need is a blood test. She was also saying shit about him foaming at the mouth, and having all these sores in his mouth, and he said that was all bull$hit as well. She claims that he stopped playing ball because of this, which is not true, he stopped because of his back problems, which is something everyone knew about.
This chick was still married to her husband when she moved in with Robbie, and just wanted the use of his money, and was pissed off as hell when he ended things with her.
There aren't very many players even in the same league as Visquel and Alomar at their respective positions, let alone in the same DP combination.
Vizquel is great yes no doubt but Alomar....maybe it's because he was just a horrible person

How many double play combinations would you like me to name that are better than Vizquel and Alomar? Give me a number
Concepcion-Morgan 72-79 Reds
Reese-Robinson 48-52 Dodgers
Trammell-Whittaker 77-95 Tigers
Mazeroski-Groat 56-62 Pirates
Smith-Herr sometime in the 1980's Cards
Fox-Aparicio 56-62 White Sox
Tinker-Evers 03-12 Cubs
Cronin-Doerr Red Sox
Dunston-Sandberg Cubs
Yount-Gatner sometime in the 70's-80's Brewers
Barry-Collins 09-14 Athletics
Boudreau-Grodon 47-50 Indians
Bishop-Boley 27-30 Athletics
And there are any number of Yankee infield duos from the 20's and 30's who were better. Tram and Whittaker are usually considered THE BEST ever....but I digress
Lyle, how can you possibly objectively rate double play combos you didn't even see first hand? you're naming guys that were alive a hundred years ago? Come on. Not even baseball writers can objectively rate those guys.
Visquel and Alomar had unbelievable hands and range, to go with their athleticism... I guarantee they would make anybody from the 60's and earlier look silly
So you guys aren't even giving me
Alan Trammell-Lou Whittaker
Ozzie Smith-Tom Herr
Shawn Dunston-Ryne Sandberg
I watched those guys....and I don't know what kind of fools you are but Ozzie Smith was 10 times better than Omar Vizquel. Robbie Alomar wasn't all that at 2nd base either, anytime he played on a team they already had a GREAT shortstop Vizquel, CAL RIPKIN....Tony Fernandez was a damn good player as well.
....also most of those guys are HALL OF FAMERS and Robbie Alomar isn't and won't even be mentioned in the voting of Hall of Famers.
Reese AND Robinson are in the hall....is that not enough to say they are better? Pee Wee isn't in there for hitting either you better believe that.
