I'm sure if Barrera or Morales or either of the Marquez brothers would of won that way, they wouldn't even take the victory. They themselves would change it to a NC and aggressively look for a rematch. It's obvious Con ain't cut from the same cloth.

I think DK should arrange a rematch asap.
June will be too soon for it to heal and to train.
I can't believe the stupid statement that it's Barrera's fault because he didn't quit.
for the 100th time it is not up to Barrera to quit! (see my previous example from the Lightweight Prizefighter) & since when is quitting standard practice for a boxer, for a mexican, for Barrera?
This reminds me of the time King tried to get Buster Douglas's win over Tyson overturned on account of Douglas receiving a long count before he came back and KO'd Tyson.
God what a stand up guy Don is.
Crusader for justice right there.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Bloody hell!
Excellent news. At the very least Barrera deserves an immediate rematch.
I don't think anyone can dispute the fact that the cut was awful and spoiled a decent little matchup. Khan got the win, but he didn't really beat anyone. I only saw one fighter wobbled after all.
If the commisions have any sense of decency we will see a rematch ordered. The loss is annoying, as I don't think it was just, but I could tolerate that just as long as the opportunity to make amends was granted to Barrera and sooner rather than later. A rematch within 6 months would suffice.
I know it's only The Sun, but I came upon this while perusing a site of which I dare not name....
No Khan do, Marco | The Sun |Sport|Boxing
It seems a Barrera rematch is not going to happen if Khan gets his way. Comments like this never fail to endear me to Khan: “So if I beat an over-the-hill fighter again what would it mean — nothing.” Classy guy, Amir Khan. Just as it says in the caption underneath his picture.
Khan seems to really believe that this "win" meant something and that he can move on and be happy that he has a legend on his resume. What a poser! A win by default, it should have been a NC. David Diaz is extremely limited and Khan should manage to outbox him. You never know though. He has unfinished work with Barrera though, so it is disappointing that he would leave a contest with so many question marks hanging over it. A sad reflection on Khan and his management. They lack integrity through and through, Warren always has. Some of his fighters have shown higher qualities though.
Hopefully Barrera can come back within six months and fight a decent top 10 opponent and get himself back in the frame for a title shot. I don't think Barrera is quite done yet, and may still be able to claim a belt at 135 before calling it a day. All it takes is a decent win to get him back in the mix, and the questionable nature of Khan's win will always hang heavy over the last fight, which again will work in his favour.
To be fair, what he said is true.
Only in the eyes of some hardcore boxing fans did Khan not win fair and square.
Whether it was solely down to the cut or not Barrera just didn't make it close enough. So you wont create the same buzz, you wont sell 20,000 tickets and you wont sell the PPV.
The rematch is never gonna happen in a million years.![]()

I'm with Fenster, he didn't say MAB was over the hill, but that was what people had said after he beat him, so if he did again he would get even less credit. If Khan gets a world title, then Barrera has to get a win over a decent opponent to get back in the mix for a rematch.
Only in the gutter press have they been saying that. The letters page in Boxing News and numerous well known boxing forums think otherwise.
The fight will sell. Khan fans will shell out for anything, Barrera fans know he got stiffed.
Khan picks up bauble title, Barrera/King press for rematch, Barrera gets his title at 4th weight![]()
He could fight any of the losers from the Lightweight Lightning fights, that would at least be credible. There can't be any more fighting bums in China & Mexico to gain a ranking. He has to earn his shot at whoever is in position, whether or not it is Khan. Yes, the cut was bad, but to the average guy who is going to shell out (and they are the people who make the difference, not Khan or Barrera fans) they need to see something to make it worthwhile, Barrera has to win well over someone like Julio Diaz or maybe Jesus Chavez to make it sellable to your average punter (at least so they could go he beat a guy who fought Mayweather or something)
Boxing News readers and boxing forum members are a small minority. How many fans are truly crying out to see the fight again? Not many. And they're not even the guys you need to sell it to again.
The novelty of seeing Barrera live in this country, in a big/intriguing fight, has gone![]()

I can see that happening. Barrera needs to come back with a decent win as JazMerkin says, and preferably against a name or someone decent in the top 10. It will hammer home the point that he can still fight at this level and put him in line for a title shot easily enough with a little influence. Barrera is still a big name.
Barrera might even get in line for a title shot before Khan considering the trajectory Khan's career has been following prior to the Barrera "win". All of Khan's accolades have come off of this single non event, it's a fair possibility that Khan gets sparked again before Barrera has any sniff of getting near him.
I can see Barrera winning a belt at 135, but Khan might not have any play in that as I think one good win and Barrera has his shot. Khan might still be fighting more gimmees knowing how Warren works. I still want to see it though as I think Barrera deserves the chance to close Khan's mouth once and for all.![]()
