At least Gerry proved he is FEARLESS. Coming to Puerto Rico and fight a young and topnotch fighter is proof enough of Gerry's virtue.

For Gerry,i think it is time to hang up his gloves and spend time with his family.Tend to his business which is a boxing gym in Manila.

i think gerry has a couple of good fights left in him, but nothing higher than 118lbs.

Am a friend to Gerry.I think i have followed his career since he was fighting in Japan.I can say his hard fought bouts just got the toll on his aged body.Time to retire and concentrate on his family and gym in Manila.He should retire healthy.Gerry's had a great career.Nothing to be ashamed of.

I don't think so... Peñalosa's defeat give more fire on PAC... You all know PAC wants to win fights for the Philippines... PAC will give his all not to disappoint Filipinos 2 weeks in a row... Watch out Richard...

Juan Manuel Lopez: Penalosa is a very tough fighter as I fully expected him to be. This was a very hard earned victory. My promoters will decide what is next for me and I will be ready for whoever they put in front of me.

Gerry Penalosa: I gave my absolute best tonight. Lopez was the better man tonight and I congratulate him.

Freddie Roach: I thought Lopez would slow down after the 4th round since he threw so many punches but he didn’t. I had told Gerry going into the 9th round that if he wasn’t able to hurt Lopez then I was going to stop the fight because he needed to hurt him or knock Lopez out at that point. Lopez I think is the best fighter at 122 pounds.
