I don't recall anyone slating Andrade for losing virtually every round to Lucian Bute before almost stopping him.

He showed a great deal tonight, he's got the power to hurt anybody, clinical finishing instincts and he can overcome adversity and pick himself up off the floor to win.

Nobody can tell me that that wasn't the best Jermain Taylor in there tonight, he was in sensational shape and gave everything he had.

It gets tiring that everyone slates our British fighters. He did the business tonight, and showed that when his back is against the wall he can pull out something special to win.

Of all the other guys who people have said would beat him easily we cannot say that of them. Bute almost crumbled against his first real decent test and finished the fight unable to stand, Kessler when he stepped up to world class was beaten in a competitive but clear fashion to Joe Calzaghe, Pavlik got shown up against Bernard Hopkins, Andrade has twice failed in his step up fights but Froch has managed to pull off two great wins back to back and in exciting fashion.

He's the most entertaining 168 lber without a doubt and will learn a tremendous amount from this fight with Taylor.

For me along with Kessler he's the man to beat in the division. In fact none of the 168 lb guys have a win over a fighter more impressive than Jermain Taylor.

He's just made himself a star tonight, well done Carl Froch.
That's cuz no one played up Andrade to be some unstoppable wrecking machine. Fraud was being build up a lot. Especially on this forum. Some of the UK posters and mods (smash) were saying Taylor didn't have a chance. That Fraud was going to wreck him. Fraud was said to have monster power. A granite chin. And overall good skills. I saw none of that. I saw great heart and courage. I'll give him that. But in reality he scored his knock out cuz of Taylor's weak stamina. How anybody can debate that, I have no idea
I agree - Taylor's stamina was what did him in.

Froch is a good fighter but he is no Calzaghe......Joe would have murdered Froch........I think Kessler and Andrade would beat him as well......

Taylor needs to work on his stamina, he definitely has the skill and power to beat Froch or even Kessler/Andrade but he needs to be able to box for 12 rounds.

Some people on here just have no clue seriously

You think its just a training mistake on behalf of Jermain Taylor and his team and that they are kicking themselves now that they didn't do more roadwork for this fight and his loss to Pavlik and previous close scrapes?

Taylor didn't lose because he wasn't in the best shape he can be he just got everything beaten out of him.

You're not the only person who has made this stupid statement to be fair but really think what you are saying. You think Taylor has two KO losses on his record now because his training team didn't realise the importance of proper conditioning?

Congrats froch. Your job was to win and he did period. I will be honest and say my opinion is that this fight was more bad for Taylor than it was. Good for froch mainly cause of the hype. Froch looked good not great and doubt he put any worry in the minds of any other fighters

Froch impressed me last night. He really poured it on in the end and showed the heart of a champion.

His style is kinda awkward and strange, but he came back from a terrible start and left with the belt he arrived with. This will be a great learning experience for him and by even taking on Taylor, shows he has great confidence.

I knew it was going to become a close fight last night when Taylor stopped throwing his right hand. I still think he hurt it in the early rounds somewhere as he totally abandoned it after having a ton of success with it.

Froch's big concern will be fighting someone with a lot of pop in their punch. Other than that his stamina alone will keep his competitive with the top guys over 12 rounds.

Froch is at least chasing after big fights at 168, which is more than what you can say about the other belt holders right now.

I think he should have made a few new fans last night. Fights like this are good for boxing. Would love to see him in with Bute or Green.

As for Taylor, I like him but he hasnt learned from his mistakes. Just like the Pavlik fight, he has his man in trouble early, lets him off the hook, and goes into survival mode late. I think Froch and Pavlik are tougher mentally that is the difference. Sucessful champions perform in the championship rounds. If Taylor had Frochs determination, hed probably be undefeated right now.
I think you made a sweet point there pal. Spot on...

People really have to look at Andrade closly!
He is tough ,fit and can punch but has anyone noticed his footwork is almost non existent .
Kessler boxed rings round him all night and Bute was effectivly shutting him out before getting chinned , Andrade is not a great fighter he is limited very limited and didn't shine for me at all against Kessler , being tough and game is one thing but that dont win you fights .

Froch - Andrade ? I'll back Froch to have the power and variation and instinct , he seems to find the answers and while alot of you will compare Andrade - Bute to last nights fight I'm still going with Froch .

Froch did win but I didnt really gain much respect for him and seriously doubt the media or fans will proclaim him the next star at 168......

    Just my opinion.

Why not? just because he started the fight slow? hes more of a champion than Taylor will ever be, a lot more heart, courage and hard work. That was proved in the last part of the fight, I had him losing by a round going into the last round, it was a lot closer than a lot of people have said IMO. Carl really is the man to beat now, I dont think a lot of people will want to step up to the plate, but Froch is now a name, now he has this name he needs to keep winning, and he will do that

Think Froch was a little out of sorts early on. But like he said, he isn't the most experienced (first fight over in America). I've seen loads of British boxers go over there and look like they have nothing before they started the fight and ultimately lose. Froch came back and I thought it was a very good fight. I had Froch down two rounds going into the last. He needed to win by knock out and that's exactly what he did.

    Fair play to him.

There are some great fights out there for him. Kessler would be great, but Calzaghe would be greater. It isn't going to happen, but I'd love it if it does happen.

Well done Froch - true champion

Given his legal troubles, am I wrong to say that Kessler is irrelevant for another year or so?

Froch should set his sites on Bute in Montreal.

Agree, did what he was paid to do and won. Didn't set the world on fire but Kudos for the way he kep plugging away until he got the result. I'm not a big fan but respect to him. Don't think too many will be quivering in their boots though. No excuses about JT losing the fight, Froch won it from him.

Don't be too hard on Andrade...he and Froch have a lot in common. Andrade actually has the iron chin people claim Froch has. At least Andrade keeps his hands up. They are both flawed fighters with more heart and hunger than boxing skill. Most of us just like Andrade better because he's not running around claiming to be the next great champion and super star. I like Froch more than I did before, but IMHO, he's Librado Andrade with a better jab and a worse chin. It would make for interesting fight.
