To address the issue of Pacquiao's fans, I really do think it's just an extremely vocal minority who cause all the problems. I'm sure most of his real fans are the same as any other boxing fans. However, with worldwide superstardom and extreme popularity casual fans are going to be drawn in (which really is probably a good thing for boxing, just not boxing forums) and along with a huge fanbase comes a huge number of idiotic, shit-disturbing fans. I'm sure Joshua Clottey fans would be just as numerous and insufferable if he was regarded in the same was Pac currently is.
cant you guys just ignore it? its not as if the first page is FULL of pac threads.
and most of the pac threads non pacfans participate, that means people are still interested.
if the pac thread is full of sh!t then no one will reply to it and the forum itself will put it on the back pages .
and pac haters still outnumbers pachuggers so whats the problem?
pacs name gets mentioned always simply because of what he had done for boxing. he is the IT boxer, even non boxing fans knows him.
But it was getting overloaded,we have been throwing them into Spam but they keep comming. If we didnt do the work the place would be full and it not fair on other fight fans in separate weights having to read and chat about Manny even when talking about the Heavyweights etc .
Whoever makes us do more work and we will vote you into being banned.
ban them if guilty!
pretty simple right? but why are some go to the extent of leaving the forums for good?
some even threat that if this thing continues many will leave? thats pretty lame imho.
we have a saying here in PI im kinda having a hard time translating it
"ang pikon ay laging talo"
I don't think it's unreasonable for people to look at the threads they are starting and to think to themselves "Is this relevant? Will this lead to healthy debate and the sharing of thoughts? Or am I doing it just to wind people up?" If it's the later then it is clearly spam and has no place on the main board.
This is a community and that always needs to be considered. Always forcing an agenda will lead to a fracturing of that community. Surely nobody who cares about this site wants that to happen? So let's all just try to be a bit more considerate of each other, and just tone it all down a bit.
Nobody is saying "let's not talk about Manny!". But people should keep Pac in relevant threads and not raise him up everywhere just for the sake of it. We are boxing fans at the end of the day. If you only want to be a Pac hugger then there are places where you can be just that. But this is a general forum. It's not too much to ask for people on both sides to sit back and reflect a little.
Right I think I will get off of my soapbox!![]()
I think we better talk awesome chicks and sexy pics on the Hidden Boards.
Spicoli and Yvonne!! start the thread
This is Manny speaking
I know i'm great, the world knows i'm great, those who doesn't even care knows i'm great. So there's no need for so many threads telling people i'm great.

RIP, Crazy Samurai. Thank you for your Drumming.
Naah... I will be happy if you stay... You know, the more the merrier... The more people involved in the discussion, the better...
Actually I started 2 PAC threads today (the Cotto and Bert Sugar comments) which were eventually merged into one thread... Maybe you were overwhelmed by the number PAC threads seen on the main board... New ones and many old ones too (as old as started years ago)... This is just some kind of forum phenomenon.... PAC the hottest subject today but maybe it will just die down weeks, months or a year from now...
Actually there are so many boxing topics on the daily basis but we don't really need to pay attention to each and every topic... Normally we only post replies to the ones we're interested in or we have some info/knowledge to contribute... On our own we can already control what topics we want to read or not...
I'm sure you can deal with these things that's annoying your very existence on this board... You can do it Killa... One way is to simply ignore them...
Hoping that you will stay for good...
this new pac board should keep everyone happy.![]()
Although I don't as annoyed by Saddo/Head/Pac/Xadu/Pactookadumpboxer as everyone else, I do think that things are getting a bit ridiculous, especially when he have threads about a boxer going to another boxer's fight or what two common opponents of two boxers MIGHT think IF these boxers were to ever face each other. There's some sh*t that just don't deserve a thread, & isn't an interesting topic. Just because people reply doesn't mean it's a good topic, just like just because people vote for the BNP (an extreme racist political party in UK) it doesn't make them a good political party. I remember Mick doing some great posts about lower weight boxers from the 60s & 70s & it was a great way of finding out about fighters I knew nothing about, but they would often struggle to get onto a 2nd page of replies. Does that mean they were pointless? No, it just represents we get a mass of forum members with nothing constructive to say about boxing as a sport, but who are basically WWE fans who've drifted into following a boxer (usually at least one of ODLH, Pac or Cotto)
Anyway, Greg, I implore you not to leave, what with Mick leaving, it would be a huge blow to the forum, & particularly on the statistical side where you make such a big impact.
Anyway back to The artist formerly known as SaddoBoxer, I think as irritating as posts can be, he has toned it down marginally from the point we were at prior to the Hatton fight & after the ODLH fight. My irritance comes from these 'new' members who seem to either mention Pac in every thread, or to try & put PBF, JMM or occasionally Mosley down in something that has nothing to do with them. There are other boxers outside Pacquiao & those who might face him, I remember a Berto thread turning into how Pac would beat him senseless for his '7th Divisional Title making him THE GREATEST BOXER OF ALL TIME' etc. It just takes the piss with the amount of people who want to talk about other divisions, fighters & maybe learn something new about the sport.
Wow!! Good decision Boss Saddo... At least those numerous PAC threads scattered all over the main board are now confined in one place... MODs will have lesser work managing/merging those numerous PAC threads...
I also appreciate the open language policy for this new PAC board...
Lastly I hope Mr. Killa will reconsider his plans to leave this forum (due to annoying PAC threads)... Hope he's starting to smile right now...
