Default After a week of test driving cars

I went back and bought another Ford Focus. This time I bought an SES version fully loaded, with ABS, Traction Control, Sync and all the goodies. That Sync system is pretty badass BTW, although I still have not gotten it to work properly with my phone. It answers it, but then says call ended. Time to read the manual I guess!hehe. The audio part of it so far is great.

I also test drove a Civic, Corolla, that new Kia Forte and a Hyundai Elantra/Touring. The Corolla was nice driving, but I did not like the interior. The Civic felt to me kinda overrated. The Kia was actually nice, it felt bigger than the rest.

The Ford though, to me anyway, just feels more solid than the rest of them. When behind the wheel it just feels solid and glued to the road. We took a trip to my hometown Wednesday and it is a great ride for a small car. It is still in its break in period so I would not push it, although the test car I had out showed it felt zippy.

My old 2001 Focus is now passed down to Brad. It still runs great so he will get a couple good year out of it yet. I just do not get all the hoopla over the imports. Every one I drove just felt like something was missing.

Has the ford got hands free bluetooth mobile which is a basic option on all the new cars?

You can never go wrong with a ford.

Yup the bluetooth is all part of the SYNC system in the Focus. What I really like about the SYNC is you can just plug in any USB thumb drive into it with mp3s, WMA's etc on it and it will play them.

I loaded up lots of Old School Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, AC/DC on it and cruised around. You can give it vocal commands to play a specific song and it plays them with no issues.

I did not have MP3 capacity on my base model you jammy git. But got a portable dvd which I can plug in at the back so the kids can watch in in my S Max. I got the base model because I did not want the alloys, because the way I drive I would scuff them.

You are in England right? The Focus looks so different over there than it does here. Like night and day.

Here is what my car looks like

That is different to our version which looks better, we prefer our hatchbacks though.

The important thing is, you are happy with the purchase, and that it isn't doesn't turn out a lemon. So grats on it, and remember me when you are ready to give it away!

Well my 2001 Focus has 284,000 KMS on it and still runs perfect. Other than brakes, tires and timing belt, the only thing I had to get fixed was a front end link kit ($110 installed) and have the front springs replaced (covered under recall). The Exhaust is even still original!!! The only reason I got rid of it is because in the past 4 months, the check engine light would come on once in a while and it made my wife panic, but it is just age.

Not bad if you ask me

The new focus feels nothing like the old one. The steering feel is the same, but other than that it feels like a different car all the way.
