I disagree that the Barrera, Morales and Marquez fights are what will determine the bulk of his legacy. These fights as impressive as they were happened when he wasn't the face of the sport as he is today. I think what will define his legacy in most is his current reign as P4P king. Which so far has been nearly flawless but I believe a lot of his and Mayweather's legacy depend on when they face each other & what happens.
Well to be honest i have him in top 30 somewhere which i thinks fair. But to be honest i cant put him in the top 10 ever because i have Sugar Ray Leonard in that spot. To me Pac while never be as good as Leonard was. But thats just me if you disagree well to each his own i guess.
To be honest i have Pac rated in the same place i have Holyfeild rated. Some may disagree because of Holyfeild loses but thats mostly due to him staying in boxing to long. We while have to see if Pac while hang around past his prime like Holyfeild, Leonard and many others have done.

He's a sure Hall of Famer. And he's top 100 all time. Around 97 or 98. Great accomplishments. He's had a great career. Anybody that rates him the top 10 is clearly someone who goes to his house every weekend and sucks his dikk. Either that or there just plain idiots who don't know the sport.

You would think that, sorry but he's still got a fair bit of work to reach that level
On the topic of where he is, at present I would have him definitely in the Top 40, probably somewhere close on either side of 30. A win over Cotto would certainly push him higher, but the problem is that as much as people don't want to hear it, there are question marks over some of his biggest wins (Oscar, Morales & Marquez). Also for me, I don't feel there's one division that he really dominated to class him as one of the best in that particular division.
Also how people rank him is based often on an individual's preferences, how they weight competition, skill & external factors. I would have him & Mayweather roughly equivalent, but someone pulled out the Ring ratings earlier, & tbh I would have both these guys over Marciano & Chavez, & certainly already level with Jofre & Arguello.
If Pacquiao beat Cotto & then Mayweather, I would have him Top 10 borderline. One thing though is that boxing unlike other sports isn't one to gloss over certain issues through history (i.e. decisions, a fighter being weight drained etc) so I don't think his career will start looking better with time. But, the guy deserves the utmost respect for his achievements & I think he will TKO Cotto within 9.

What your saying are just excuses!!! Pac is one of the Greats now. When he's about to take MAB every critics said He's biting more than he can Chew. He takes EM, they say he's too small, He takes DLH, he's too small again, they say it's impossible for pac to win. When Pac was still at 130 they say Hatton will kill Pac. Now Pac Beat the hell af all their asses you guys come out with these excuses.
Now Pac was about to take out Cotto. what will be your excuse again
Pac Beat The best opponents available, he didn't duck nobody. He defied logic. He proved Critics wrong. He wins spectacularly. Very few can top that.

I say the guy is one of the best 30 fighters of all time & you throw a fit over it. You do realize the significance of that? A sport that's been around something like its current form for a 125 years or so, & he is one of the 30 best practitioners in that time says a lot about how highly I rate him. But no according to you, I'm trying to make excuses. Hey, I wasn't the one comparing him to Ali, Duran & Ray Leonard. He is great now, but so were those guys, can't help if I (& most boxing fans) rate them higher.
I've said he'll beat Cotto, & I give him full credit for beating Barrera. The problem with you is that unless someone praises Pac unequivocally & says he's the best of all time, you lose your minds & see it as 'hate'. I swear if he ran over a toddler, you'd probably say the child was a Marquez fan & asked for it![]()
