The more the head moves the harder the collision is on the brain, thats why when you keep your chin tucked in, even when you get hit, it doesn't hurt as much, thats because your head can move as much from impact if the chin is tucked in, but have it up and the head flies back which makes the damage done to the chin way worse.

I think I understand your point about a harder collision. I was thinking how the hell does a drunk get away with having less damage when they are limp than people who brace for the impact. Or in other another thought I had was moving with the blow rather than against it.
