This fight is not entirely different than Hatton-Castillo. The man that was a natural fighter at one weight beats a fighter who is just as good but not as strong. I know Castillo was a little past it, but he lost mainly because he was fighting a stronger man and got overpowered as the rounds went by. The sentiments were about the same going into that fight. After the fight though, the fight meant very little. Floyd will likely win, but it proves nothing. Except that Floyd is a welterweight. Now if JJM wins, that will prove a lot.

Mayweathers stock has fallen whether his supporters like it or not. Making a fight with a Lightweight was bad enough, but to now emphasise the size polarity even more with this carry on is sickening. Mayweather can blame his lack of popularity on race as much as he likes but the simple truth is that is his own selfish actions that make people loath him.

Now every fighter should put in some kind of million dollar a pound penalty whenever they fight Mayweather because he is obviously a snake who will do whatever he can to get an advantage whether we the public like it or not.

People bringing up Mayweathers last minute contract changes are failing to realise that this information should have been made clear much sooner. If indeed it ever existed at all. It all points to Mayweather never having had any intention of trying to make 144 pounds.
People know how highly I think of Mayweather, I am still super excited to see this fight live(I am flying out in 4 hours), but what I highlighted tells my feelings exactly. What a piece of shit. This IMO is the shit I would expect from a total coward. All the shit about Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, Pacquiao, and Mayweather ducking them, I thought the fights he made were challenging and worthy, this fight as much as any of them. However, sometimes its not about the caliber of opposition or even moving up or down in weight, its being a true warrior. I don't care if you talk trash, act like an ass, fight defensively. I respect anybody who is willing to come in and face another really good fighter on a fair playing field. Up until now MAyweather has always done that, but now he is a pussy. I am not going to Mayweather because I think he is too good of a fighter, and I love his style, but him renegging on this fight IMO makes him a scumball, I will hate him as a person regardless of what he does from here on out. I love the game, but hate the player. I still don't think anyone out there can come close to beating him, but this really dampens my mood.

No excuses...but all things considered he is fighting the best lightweight in the world today.Umm.Marquez will take the money sure, and he also believes he can win more so...not going through with the fight is a none starter. And Hopkins gets smashed for fighting 'jr middles'.
