Default hatton - cotto - wembly

just read an interesting thought on if hatton fought in england for a last time he might be able to put on one last hurrah, if he fought cotto with cotto being top 5 p4p would he have any chance of pulling it out the bag, mayb a 145 catchweight if cotto comes in relatively ok for the pac.

cotto being a relatively slow starter mihgt at lease give Hatton a chance to get going?

It would be an absolute massacre, all 1 1/2 minutes of it. Hatton would be lucky to walk out of the ring under his own power.

I would have liked to have seen this a while back, but certainly not now. If Hatton can be wobbled by Lazcano and flattened Pacquiao then Cotto blows him out of the water.......

Even if hatton could take the power of cotto, it would be punishment. He would either be put out cold or would be brutally tkoed. Not a fight he should even dream about, hell if hes dreaming about it then it would be a nightmare.

4 years ago at 140 it may have been competitive (basically due to Cotto being tight at the weight) but Cotto has always been all wrong for Hatton and I wouldn't see the fight going past half way if it happend

Hatton at wembley needs to happen before he calls it a day. Ricky is huge in manchester but the demand for him is so massive nationwide it is actually quite feasible that hatton alone could pull in 100,000 fight fans at £50 a ticket.

Dont listen to all these cotto would kill him shite. Cotto got knocked out by margarito (wraps or no wraps) taken down by torres and made to look extremely ordinary against corley

Rickys only fall from graces have been to the best 2 fighters on the planet. Id lay money on cotto at anything above 140, but it would still be an extremely close fight that if fought in britain under BBoc rules would probably result in hatton winning by stoppage

Dude...hes lost both of his fights by knockout within the last 2 yrs. One was to pac (not the biggest jr welter) and once to floyd. Even if cotto came down in weight, hes still bigger then hatton and make no mistake...cotto was powerful at 140. Yes he got rocked by a few guys but hes a much better boxer now then what he was. Hattons face first approach to boxing would get him battered senseless in this fight. Even if hes not knocked out cold or even knocked out, i would say he either doesnt come out for a round or he is tkoed.
You dont watch much boxing do you??

    lazcano (cough,cough) malignaggi (cough)

Really? you genuinely believe the miguel cotto that took 7rounds to see off jennings and just scraped past clottey is a better fighter than the man who stopped zab judah and beat sugar shane mosley??

As ive said all along you dont suddenly become a bad fighter once you beat by the 2 best on the planet. Both occasions were a step too far for hatton but he is still more than capable of competing and winning world titles at the very highest level.

Hatton-Cotto at 147 in vegas is cottos to lose, too big and too strong for ricky. Hatton-Cotto at a 143/144 catchweight at wembley/manchester sways massively towards hatton because he`ll have a far smaller ring and bigger crowd on his side which you may think doesnt play much part in a boxing contest until you enter an arena surrounded by 50`000 roaring fans!!

You cant keep using the "hatton would only win in manchester" excuse because thats just ridiculous kind of like me saying floyd can only win in vegas or kessler in germany. The boxing world is far wider than the MGM grand and the sooner you realise that the better!
Cotto is still the more talented technical fighter and he has advantages in every area, he wouldn't take Hatton's dirty punch and hug style or even be ruffled up by his "aggression", if Hatton fought Cotto at any weight he'd get his ass handed to him, and quite badly, so unless you wanna see that comatose version of Hatton that you saw at the end of the Pacquiao fight, i'd recommend that Ricky stays as far away from Cotto as possible, cause Hatton's done
