Hmm, thats a tough one. he'll drop back down if he lost i would think. Maybe Marquez again? Actually probably not. Obviously Mayweather would be blown, but it would still need to be a biggy. Mosely at 147? or am i being crazy?
I see it being JMM at 135 if he loses to Cotto. I don't see him staying around 147 if he does lose.

Marquez, Valero, Alexander or Khan at 140. Marquez probably the biggest fight. Should it be Khan, expect to see Freddie in Khan's corner.

IMO he'd probably go back down to 140 and try to take on someone like Khan or Bradley

    Khan v Pac Man.

It's been offered before and Khan said no. If he loses to Cotto then he'll take the fight.

Clottey's fighting at 154 against Quintana (at least until Quintana backs out again) I really don't think Roach would put PAC in with such a durable opponent that doesn't fill the seats at his fights. Nothing against Clottey, he gives an honest effort, even if it's not reflected on the scorecards. But the risk/reward for PAC/Clottey isn't there.

Pac's going to retire if he doesn't win aganist Cotto. He's running for public office this coming May, 2010 as a representative in one of the districts in Mindanao.

Hi Lethal, welcome to the site. Agree with you, if Pacquiao beats Cotto and then Mayweather a title at 154 would not add much. It would also carry inherent dangers.
However, if Pac beats Cotto but can't get Mayweather to fight, a title at 154 would become valuable to him. I can't see Pacquiao fighting at 154 though.
i agree, hell i don't even see him beating Cotto in November
Name change and sig bet for 3 months? Are we confirmed?

Cotto will not last 9 rounds.

I dont think so, Roach already said that he wouldnt fight mosley at 147 and that Mosley would have to drop weight. So he wouldnt let Pac fight an elite fighter at 154, and if its not an elite fighter than its gonna be a weak pay day, and I think their more concerned with pay day than they are at beating an average fighter that holds one of the 100 belts in a division just to put another feather in their cap.

alright you're on, and you're right, cause Cotto's gonna have Manny out by about the 5th or 6th

Another example of thinking ahead for Manny fans. I don't think Manny would ever fight at 154. If so, he will probably start that catch weight shit again. The fact that Manny wanted a catch weight for Cotto clearly shows his concern for Cotto's size and strength. If I am Cotto, I let Manny come to me as opposed to chase him around the ring a la Hatton (although I've seen Ricky Hatton-he's no Miguel Cotto).
