With Warren recently making a habit of losing his big names (ie Calzaghe and Khan) once the big bucks start rolling in, any chance we might see a defector to the Warren camp in Froch?
Obviously it'd be a huge portion of humble pie for Froch to do so, but the man's prime years in his career are slipping away with him making relatively little money with Hennessey. To extend the gastro metaphor, would eating humble pie mean he was shitting money later on?
He doesn't have to go with Warren to make money though!! Hatton could be a good man to go with, he made much more money AFTER he left Warren and he pretty much comes hand in hand with Golden Boy Promotions to take care of affairs in the U.S.
Depends on how many fights the fat man has him under contract for still. I'm guessing Froch loses before the contract ends and he's going to be in tough fights for the next few too. There may not be much left to promote the next time he's a free agent and it's not like Warren can step him down in class and spend a few years building him up, he's 32 already. Froch should have been a name and marketable to British telly before he became world champion, too late now.
It's an object lesson to any fighter coming through though, go with the guy with the track record of making his fighters names/big money. I'm interested to see how Ricky Hatton goes on over the next few years when it comes to shelling out for prospects. So far it looks like he's tried to find an earner out of a bunch of retreads while Warren has spent some wedge signing up the actual talent. Hatton is going to have to get his cheque book out over the next few years if he's going to compete with Warren. Hennessy, in the words of Saddoboxer, might just get left in the dust.
feel sorry for froch he has not run from anyone & at the same time no one knows who he is
