Agreed, but once again we're talking about a group of mental midgets that don't even attempt to understand soccer. They apparently don't want to be in on the ground floor of US Soccer and see it acheive and make progress.
I (and I assume the majority of American soccer fans) believe that our team should acheive nothing less than making it out of the Group Stage. If we do not advance from the Group Stage Bob Bradley should be fired, Sunil Gulati should resign, and we should hire Klinnsman making him the US Soccer Czar will full reign over the sport in this country (or just make him coach and get the head of MLS to run the USSF or whatever the hell it is.). If the US does make it out of the Group Stage (and we certainly should) we're more than likely to finish 2nd and have to play Germany and I think it's not too much to expect that we give them a good run and "make a game of it" instead of getting blasted out 3-0 or worse. I also don't think it's too much to ask that we give England a scare either.
And Jim Rome is another ESPN GIANT Douchebag

As decent sports journalists (and ESPN should have SOME standards for hiring these guys) they can have their opinions one way or another but I am tired of them ripping on boxing and soccer when nothing is wrong with either sport. You can't say "boxing is dead" like it's a fucking fact when there will be 50 thousand people in Germany watching Klitschko-Chambers IN PERSON and millions watching on tv and when Mayweather-Mosley is probably going to beat Mayweather-De la Hoya's PPV numbers! And you can't say soccer in the US isn't progressing, the MLS has had it's struggles but #1 The US OWNS women's soccer and #2 The MLS is now adding teams, playing better quality ball, and the US National Team has progressed nicely and to ignore that is doing a disservice to sports fans (and if they had enough brains to take time and think about it) their own industry...ESPN runs both soccer and boxing and to run those sports down shouldn't be acceptable to that station
