To be honest that list is a bit of a joke.

Marquez has already knocked out two fighters on it ( Casa, Diaz) and he will be knocking out Diaz for the second time when they meet. Casamayor and Diaz have done nothing of note since Marquez derailed them.

Guzman isn't a lightweight anymore, and his record there should be 1-1.

Soto has only just started his career at lightweight. He doesn't deserve to be named the man there.

Other options like Katsidis, Mitchell, etc have also not done enough to be mentioned as the man at 135.

Funeka was a top guy at 135 but his recent drug tests meant he was cheating to make weight, he probably won't be a lightweight again.

Wait this could be a trick question.. The Champ in JMM... But the #1 guy is probably Soto.

Yeah really... If anyone can't fight LW it's Guzman. He literally cannot fight at LW anymore after coming in over on Nate Campbell (in case some of you forgot). He was banished by one or more of the organizations Source?(WBO maybe?)

And Mighty Mike just stepped up to WW, ono.

I think JMM can be counted.. he is a blown up featherweight for cryin out loud.

I have a feeling Soto will be on top for a while. He's improved his boxing skills quite a bit, and he has power in both hands. I think he's overlooked b/c he doesn't have a lot of matchups out there for him. I would say he takes Guzman easily in a rematch

My boy JMM is obviously the best until someone beats him, just because he lost at Welterweight. Which is two weightclasses above Lightweight, plus he even struggles at Lightweight, means nothing at all.

Considering the fighter he was up against had all the advantages, regarding size, reach, ETC. Plus it was Floyd Mayweather Jr for crying out loud.

IMO JMM is still a top 3 P4P fighter, aswell as being the number 1 Lightweight.

I'd say Juan Manuel Marquez is the best lightweight in the world just like he was before Valero killed his wife and himself.
