That was a TKO not a decision and it was the 10th round, one question to Fenster. Does it have to a decision ? can it be a stoppage between 12/15 rounds ?

Tommy Morrison vs George Foreman = Tommy Morrison was a huge underdog, and is certainly the greatest example of a chinny fighter.

I wanted to see how many chinny guys go the distance with punchers. I have a theory that the chinny guy needs an early-ish stoppage because he is vulnerable at all times (thats why i didn't ask for stoppages).

I'm thinking Maidana is a good bet unless Khan gets him early.

Not sure those guys are genuinely chinny. Lots of KO losses when a fighter gets old shouldn't really be held against him.

In fact, i'm starting to think there really isn't that many world-class chinny fighters.

Well both fighters have been stopped numerous times, but i can see your point. I can't really think of any major ones, John Tate vs Gerrie Coetzee is another. But im not sure how chinny he was, because i've only seen his stoppage losses.

And also big punchers normally have suspect chins aswell.

It's more liek a thread of who were the best chinny fighters. Kind of makes people drop out of being world class if they get KTFO.. So if you are looking for chinny guys who can box who don't get knocked out, your need not look further than the guys who were protected their whole careers.

Livingstone Bramble vs Ray Mancini 1 or 2 is probably a pretty good example.

    Hatton vs Urango

And Fenster... Tommy hearns by all accounts was a chinny fighter. He could take an ok shot but not nearly what he could dish out!

Willie Pep vs Sandy Saddler? Pep isn't what I would call "chinny" but he did get stopped by Saddler before beating him in the rematch.

Roger mayweather going 12 with Kostya still baffles me. Edit: of course he didn't outbox shat. Considering how Brown smacked around Norris the 1st time, surely thought he'd get him again.

The thing with Pep though is he probably was chinny. He was just so damned hard to hit that we very rarely found out.

Also I see the Khan angle on this thread but can I just say that Khan definitely has the skills to see a shut out vs Maidana but I just think he will be so much better that Khan KO's around the middle rounds!

Hatton was chinny? That's ridiculous. He was peppered by a million punches before being stopped by one of the greatest fighters in history - and anyone on Earth that fought Pacquiao like they'd just stepped out of a nightclub at 4am would get wiped out. Fact.

The flaw in Lennox's game that I think is the biggest is that at times he was LAZY...he apparently wasn't often lazy in training but in the ring, during the fight....look at the Bruno fight, it's like he wasn't even trying until he touched Frank and hurt him, then he tasted blood and went for the kill. He was lazy vs Shannon Briggs and should have had a knockdown scored against him, but he got his mind right and just blasted Shannon all night.
