Ban him for what? For awarding a justified point deduction to Maidana?

I don't think that's the reason they want Cortez banned. It's because he didn't give Maidana a two points deduction.

I agree with dizaster. The Maidana fight just reminded people what a Shitty referee Cortez is, the elbow is not the reason for all the hate. I did think the elbow was not intentional and he should have gotten a warning, but that didn't bother me nearly as much as the way Cortez kept jumping in to break up the fight when they were not even clinching. He jumps in way too much and way too early. What chance does an inside fighter have? I'd understand if it was just 1 fight maybe but he seems to do this in all his fights.

Judges that are continually far wide of the others judges scores are the ones who should be banned first.

Cortez used to be fair now he has grown himself a ego,he thinks the fans have turned out to see him too.
Thats not as bad as some refs who fear the crowds reaction on an early stoppage and let it go on.

I know there are a lot of Brits that hate Cortez because of Hatton-Mayweather and Cortez wouldn't let Ricky hold or maul Floyd. Now part of me wonders how those very same fans would react if Cortez was to ref the (hopefully) soon to be made heavyweight unification fight.

Was in Vegas for the Last Marquez-Diaz fight. Saw Joe reffing the undercard fight where Bika was DQ for hitting Mendy when he was down. He had plenty of time to step in.Maybe he's losing it a bit. There are a lot of other useless refs that should go also in m opinion.

I think Cortez is a disgrace. He always seems to favour someone in there, and that makes me think he's corrupt.

I remember when Hopkins put his head in Calzaghe's face right in front of Cortez and the little fair but firm fat man did fuck all about it.

No that's not the root cause of why hatton lost the fight. But as a Floyd fan and as a boxing fan I like to see a fight on an even playing field. I would have liked to have seen Floyd win with no question marks due to biased refereeing.
