Even though Solis is a fat fuck I would have been very pleased to see that amateur loss avenged....I still say that should be done whether or not he wins the fight vs Wlad (he won't win the fight vs Wlad or make another fight but still).

Adamek? Thompson? Chambers? There were better fights for him than Harrison and if he just wanted a good backyard English battle why not try Chisora, Sexton, or Fury?

Someone else had his eye on chisora if I remember rightly.

Sexton or fury would have been the exact same out come as audley. Same with thompson and chambers.

I'll give you adamek tough even though you would have said something along the lines of 'adamek is practically a cruiser weight anyway.'
Thompson and Chambers are good boxers, they don't draw crowds though, that's why they were overlooked. Thompson did find a way into camp as a sparring partner for the Harrison fight though.

I never thought Adamek would have had this much success at heavyweight, but he demolished Golota (albeit an old one) and he beat Arreola which still means a little bit especially for Adamek. He's a tough little bastard.

Erics44....are there any British fighters I can mention? Will you ALLOW me to mention Frank Bruno or Henry Cooper? Jesus...get off my back dude.

Lyle, all you've done by constantly rubbishing Haye is hurt Wlad's rep. If Wlad wins it will be considered his most significant victory by miles.

    It is a unification match.
Haye is ranked the 2nd best heavyweight by The Ring. He is in his prime. He is a dangerous KO artist.
He got Wlad back on HBO.
They are fighting in front of 60,000 fans and will do a million+ PPVs in Britain.
It is the richest fight in world boxing barring Pac-Floyd.

Even if Wlad sparks him in the first it will be regarded his best ever win just because of the magnitude of the event. It will certainly eclispe Sam plodder Peter. However, you have taken all the credit Wlad will deserve away from him

I'm realistic about the fight #1 I don't think it will be close and #2 Wlad won't get his due credit anyway #3 Wlad has no trouble bringing in fans to see his matches hell he got about 50k to watch him fight Eddie Chambers...and yet you're still saying that the WBA title holder has caused 60k fans to want to watch this fight.

HBO is back in because its a marketable fight despite it being held in Germany and therefore taking up time while they are usually showing movies on a Saturday night.....but I've posted that time and time again and despite the Klitschko's getting good ratings on tv in general the people refuse to believe this. Whatever, I'm not going to worry about it.

All I wanted is for Wlad to get a PROVEN foe....so far that hasn't happened. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be wrong and have this fight be a classic, but I don't see how its going to get there with this opponent. He's talked a big game, but will he back it up....will he even show up?

Kind of true. I think Wlad wins, but Haye is a bit of a threat. Against Vitali I would say no threat, but Wlad? Oh, there is always a bit of a risk.

For it to be a classic both fighters have to dish it out and take it. Neither has the ability to take the power of the other so IMO which ever way it goes it's going to be one sided.

    Pathetic.

Fair enough you think Haye is a shit boxer and poses no threat. But you can't even give Haye credit for making this a MASSIVE event. When was Wlad last on HBO? Haye is the best paid fighter in boxing outside Floyd and Pac. Why? Because as well as being an excellent fighter he's a brilliant promoter. He sells fights.

Outside of idiotic forum posters, the winner of this fight will get HUGE praise. I'll credit Wlad for the win even if a twerp like you that loves him wont.

...I'm a BOXING fan, I like a good product IN the ring I could give two shits about what happens outside the ring. The FACT is that more people remember Larry Holmes drop kicking Trevor Berbick than their actual fight.

Can the guy talk? Yeah sure...I don't think he's all that innovative or clever, but with a willing media he's garnered a good portion of the spotlight for himself. Considering his actual heavyweight fights he doesn't seem like much of a threat.

Wlad wins, he makes it look easy, and he doesn't get respect for it...those are just the facts. People want him to stand toe to toe and brawl, they demand it and it wouldn't be in his best interests to do that....they may as well ask him to fight southpaw and standing on one leg while they're at it.

I don't know if it was Wlad's best win, but Wlad vs. Brewster II comes to mind. It was a total domination by Wlad and showed that the 1st fight between these 2 was a fluke.

I'm not so sure about that Fenster, I don't disagree that Haye promotes himself well, but besides what he'll make off the fight with Wlad, what fights has he made big bucks off of? Barrett, Ruiz, Valuev?
For what it's worth, Haye would get mega praise if he managed to defeat Wlad, but I really doubt that Wlad would get nearly as much praise, since he's expected to win, and the former cruiserweight Haye isn't really thought by some to be a worthy challenge for Wlad.

I also see Haye's fans jumping off the bandwaggon as soon as he loses.

Haye made a reported $10 million+ for the Valuev fight. Around the same again for the Audley fight. He is a huge PPV seller in the UK.

Nobody barring Oscar, Floyd, Hatton and Pac is close to those numbers in the past few years.

That's amazing, I can't imagine anyone paying money to see those 2 fights, I didn't even bother trying to find a live stream.. I can see why Haye -Wlad would be a big seller in the UK, but Harrison & Valuev? I really don't get that at all, especially since both of those fights were absolute garbage.
